Pavement Design Report Clause Samples

The Pavement Design Report clause requires the preparation and submission of a detailed document outlining the proposed design for pavement structures within a project. This report typically includes information such as material specifications, design calculations, traffic loading assumptions, and construction methods, and may require supporting data like soil investigations or laboratory test results. Its core practical function is to ensure that the pavement design meets project requirements and standards, providing a clear basis for construction and facilitating review and approval by relevant authorities.
Pavement Design Report. This task will consist of using information obtained in the geotechnical investigation to calculate the pavement sections required to support the design vehicle or aircraft using FAA Advisory Circular 150/5320-6G, Airport Pavement Design and Evaluation. The following will be completed under this task: a. With CLIENT input, determine critical design aircraft or vehicle based on current and forecasted aircraft fleet mix and vehicular use. To prepare these recommendations the airport will provide 3 years of fleet mix data and forecast of operations to develop fleet mix recommendation. b. Verify the pavement section based on accepted FAA pavement design program (FAARFIELD). Develop pavement design alternatives and make recommendations as to the most economical pavement section and/or rehabilitation alternative. Two (2) pavement designs will be evaluated. c. Evaluate effects of pavement profile on adjacent operational areas and future pavement rehabilitation. d. Determine sub-excavation, undercutting, and other techniques for subgrade stabilization, if necessary. e. Prepare a pavement design narrative to describe the design procedure, historic design, and design selection justification for the FAA and CLIENT. f. Prepare FAA Pavement Design outputs for each separate pavement section for inclusion in the Preliminary Design Report and the final Engineer’s Design Report. 11 PREPARE PRELIMINARY COST ESTIMATE 11.1 Calculate Estimated Preliminary Quantities The CONSULTANT will calculate necessary quantities for the various work items. Quantities will be consistent with the specifications and acceptable quantity calculation practices. 11.2 Prepare Preliminary Cost Estimate The CONSULTANT will provide a preliminary cost estimate based on record cost data and similar work. Cost estimate shall be included in the Preliminary Design Report.
Pavement Design Report. This task includes efforts to analyze the existing subgrade soil conditions and develop a pavement design for the project that meets WSDOT’s pavement design requirements.
Pavement Design Report. Consultant’s team shall prepare a report containing: • Project description and scope of services. • Subgrade soil conditions. • Existing pavement condition. • Results of Consultant’s pavement coring, presence of overlays and fabric, and current traffic index. • R-value test results. • FDR mix design results. • New pavement section recommendations for traditional AB and HMA and full depth HMA based on the traffic index. • Rehabilitation options considering mill and overlay with dig outs and FDR for both the desired traffic index and a reduced design life. • Vicinity map, site plan, dig out map(s), core logs, and core photos.
Pavement Design Report. The CONSULTANT will perform pavement design following the current ADOT methodology. The CONSULTANT will prepare the Pavement Design Report per Section 3.13 of the Design Manual and include the following:
