Pay Scales. 5.01 Each Employee in the bargaining unit as of the date of ratification shall be assigned a rate of pay on the applicable pay scale in Article 5.04 effective May 8, 2012. 5.02 Full time and Part time Employees shall move up to the next level upon completion of twelve (12) months continuous employment. Casual Employees shall move up to the next level upon the completion of 1040 hours worked at the previous level. (a) When an Employee progresses from one position to another, i.e.: • From Attendant to Agent The Employee shall progress to the level on the new scale that is closest to and at least 4% higher than their current rate of pay. (b) When an Employee regresses from one position to another, i.e.: • From Agent or Attendant, The Employee shall regress to the same level in the new position. For example, a level 4 Agent who regresses to an Attendant position shall move to the level 4 Attendant rate. (c) Articles 5.03a and 5.06b shall apply if there is also a change of classification, e.g.: - From Cargo Agent to Customer Service Agent, or - From Station Agent to Customer Service Agent or Cargo Attendant. 5.04 The following hourly rates are the pay scales for the positions covered by this Agreement: Permanent Coordinators who held the position as of May 8, 2014 COORDINATORS Coordinator scale applies to Cargo Services Coordinator, Customer Services Coordinator and Station Coordinator positions. Level Effective May 8th, 2012 Effective May 8th, 2013 For Employees who become a Coordinator after May 8, 2014 the following provision applies. Coordinators shall receive a premium of $375.00/month in addition to the appropriate agent pay rate. When an employee is designated as an "Acting Coordinator", that employee will receive the prorated premium for the hours worked as such. A level 4 Attendant who becomes a Coordinator would move to the Level 4 Agent hourly rate of pay plus the Coordinator premium. A level 4 Agent who becomes a Coordinator would receive the Coordinator premium in addition to their hourly rate. Acting Coordinator would be paid with the premium converted to an hourly rate. So level 4 agent would get level 4 agent pay/hour + hourly premium Level 4 attendant would get level 4 agent pay/hour + hourly premium AGENTS Agent scale applies to Customer Service Agent, Cargo Agent and Station Agent positions. (ii) Permanent Full time Employees (non-rotational) permanently residing and working at a station/base in the North that does not have road access, shall be entitled to a taxable northern living allowance of $9,000 per year. (iii) Permanent Part time Employees (non-rotational) who permanently reside and work at a station/base in the North that has road access, shall be entitled to a taxable northern living allowance of $3.17 per hour worked, to a maximum of the Permanent Full time Employee amount. (iv) Permanent Part time Employees (non-rotational) permanently residing and working at a station/base in the North that does not have road access, shall be entitled to a taxable northern living allowance of $4.33 per hour worked, to a maximum of the Permanent Full time Employee amount. Rotational and Non-Rotational Employees who reside in Company provided housing are not entitled to receive the northern living allowance. For the purpose of this article the “North” is defined as being locations which are north of 55 degrees latitude. 5.06 Pay cheques will be issued every two (2) weeks on Friday. (a) Any Employee required to perform work of a higher classification for less than four (4) hours will receive the higher rate of pay for the time worked. For four (4) hours or more, they will receive the higher rate of pay for the full Shift. (a) will apply to an Employee who is requested by Management to train a new Employee from a Company-approved training program. This will apply to on-the-job training; however, it will not apply to job shadowing.
