Planned Temporary Shutdowns. It is understood and agreed that the Employer shall have the right to schedule planned temporary shutdowns of all or part of its operations for maintenance or renovation purposes, or otherwise, and the provisions of Article 31 [Displacement, Layoff And Recall] shall not apply, providing the duration of the planned temporary shutdown does not exceed thirty (30) consecutive calendar days, commencing on and from and including the start date of any such shutdown. Under these circumstances, a Regular Employee shall have the option of using some or all of his or her vacation entitlement, to the extent available, in whole or in part, during the period of such planned temporary shutdown. Otherwise, they shall be deemed to be on unpaid leave of absence.

  • Temporary Upgrade An employee in a temporary upgrade status shall have no right to grieve or arbitrate release from such temporary upgrade status.

When bridges and culverts are re- moved, associated fills shall also be removed to the ex- tent necessary to permit normal maximum flow of water.

  • Temporary Positions A) The Employer may create regular temporary positions for vacation relief for more than one (1) incumbent for up to six (6) months duration.

  • Temporary Layoff The Employer may temporarily layoff an employee for up to ninety (90) days due to an unanticipated loss of funding, revenue shortfall, lack of work, shortage of material or equipment, or other unexpected or unusual reasons.
