Platoon Duty Overtime Compensation. A. Work Period A 7(k) exemption under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) is hereby declared for Battalion Chiefs who are assigned to platoon duty. The work period for such employees shall be nine (9) shifts in 27 days. B. Compensation – 7(k) 1. Hours Worked - Defined Only hours worked shall be credited toward computation of overtime.
