Common use of Policy and Group Grievances Clause in Contracts

Policy and Group Grievances. In the event that a dispute of a general nature affecting more than one (1) Employee arises between the Employer and the Union regarding interpretation, application, or alleged violation of the Collective Agreement, which cannot be resolved by discussion between the parties, the dispute becomes a policy grievance or a group grievance. Such grievance shall commence at Step 2 of the grievance procedure. It is understood that either party may file a Policy grievance under this Clause.
