POSTING AND FILLING VACANT POSITIONS. 1. In this Article vacancy means a newly created teaching position or an existing teaching position for which there is a continuing need to which a teacher is not assigned. All teachers in the District are eligible to apply for all vacancies except those vacancies filled by teachers on the Recall List. A teaching position filled by a temporary appointee does not become a vacancy on expiration of the temporary contract if that temporary appointee is re-engaged and assigned to that position.
