POSTS OF SPECIAL RESPONSIBILITY. 1. Prior to the creation, major modification or deletion of any district supervisory, coordinator, consultant, area counsellor, district resource teacher, school based administrative or department head position, the Board shall consult with the CTA.

Job Descriptions The Board, in consultation and agreement with the Association will draw up job descriptions and procedures for appointments for all positions of special responsibility, including, but not limited to, acting Principal/Vice Principals, department heads and/or department coordinators, and the French and Russian Coordinators. POSTS OF SPECIAL RESPONSIBILITY. In addition to their salary as per Article of this Agreement, teachers holding posts of special responsibility shall be paid allowances as set out in Appendix A to this Agreement. The allowances set out in Appendix A are annual amounts which shall be paid in ten (10) equal monthly payments. Where the position is not occupied for a full year, the allowance shall be paid in proportion to the period in which the position is occupied.

Unless specified otherwise in this agreement, the Posts of Special Responsibility of Guidance Teachers, Health and Safety Teachers, and Teacher Librarians shall be on an indefinite basis following a selection process through an internal call for application for eligible candidates. Provided that employees selected to fill these roles as from the date of signing of this agreement will have a trial period of 1 scholastic year. Educators in these posts on the date of signing of the agreement shall be considered to be in the post on an indefinite basis.

POSTS OF SPECIAL RESPONSIBILITY. Department Heads A person designated by the board as Head of Department on the recommendation of the Principal and the Superintendent of Schools, shall be paid an annual allowance equal to 4 of Category 5 Maximum.

Where the position is not for a full year. the allowance shall be paid in proportion to the period in which the position is occupied. Where Department Head work is split between than one person, the amount shall be paid the person in proportion to his work loads. This clause shall not require a Board to create Department Heads nor to agree to split work loads.
