POSTS OF SPECIAL RESPONSIBILITY. 1. The following positions shall be called Posts of Special Responsibility: Department Heads, Counsellors, Student Programmers, Head Teachers, Teacher-in-Charge. 2. A job description for a person in a position of special responsibility will be developed jointly by that person and their immediate supervisor, following guidelines established by the joint Board/Union committee. 3. Should the position of special responsibility become vacant, the job description in effect will serve as the description for the position. Upon filling the vacancy the provisions of Article B.24.2 apply. 4. Teachers assigned to a position of special responsibility shall be paid an allowance per year, or fraction thereof, proportionate to their assignment, as follows: a. Department heads, Counsellors: 4 1/2% of Category 5 Maximum b. Head Teacher: 8% of Category 5 Maximum c. Teacher-in-Charge: According to the following formula: F.T.E. Staff Amount Less than 10 .069 per day 10-15 .121 per day 16-25 .173 per day Over 25 .225 per day 5. Appointments to these posts, (except for Teacher-in-Charge), shall be for one (1) year. 6. All positions covered in Article B.24 shall be advertised as Posts of Special Responsibility and the allowance shall be included in the advertisement.

POSTS OF SPECIAL RESPONSIBILITY. 1. Prior to the creation, major modification or deletion of any district supervisory, coordinator, consultant, area counsellor, district resource teacher, school based administrative or department head position, the Board shall consult with the CTA. a. All positions of special responsibility shall be voluntary. b. Department heads shall be appointed annually for one (1) or two (2) year terms. These positions shall be posted in each school and the principal's recommendation to the superintendent of schools shall be made after consultation with the Collaborative Decision–Making Committee in the school. c. District positions of special responsibility will be posted as they become available. d. Teacher in charge designations shall be made as needed during the year in accordance with Article B.22.

Job Descriptions The Board, in consultation and agreement with the Association will draw up job descriptions and procedures for appointments for all positions of special responsibility, including, but not limited to, acting Principal/Vice Principals, department heads and/or department coordinators, and the French and Russian Coordinators. These descriptions shall be the recognized job descriptions for such positions. 2. New Positions The Board, in consultation with the Association, shall prepare a new job description whenever a new position of special responsibility is created or whenever the duties of any such position are changed or increased. When such a position is created or changed, the allowance shall be subject to negotiations between the Board and the Association. 3. Allowances a. Coordinator of the French Language Program will receive an allowance over placement on basic salary scale: Effective July 1, 2019 $ 1,292.28 Effective July 1, 2020 $ 1,318.12 Effective July 1, 2021 $ 1,344.49 b. Coordinator of the Russian Language Program will receive an allowance over placement on basic salary scale: Effective July 1, 2019 $ 1,292.28 Effective July 1, 2020 $ 1,318.12 Effective July 1, 2021 $ 1,344.49 c. Each year the Board shall establish a fund at the Grand Forks Secondary School in the amount of 100 times (x) the teacher teaching on call rate. This fund is intended to be used for the school's departmental coordination. The school staff committee and the Principal/Vice Principal shall discuss and mutually determine how this fund is to be utilized each year.

POSTS OF SPECIAL RESPONSIBILITY. In addition to their salary as per Article of this Agreement, teachers holding posts of special responsibility shall be paid allowances as set out in Appendix A to this Agreement. The allowances set out in Appendix A are annual amounts which shall be paid in ten (10) equal monthly payments. Where the position is not occupied for a full year, the allowance shall be paid in proportion to the period in which the position is occupied.
