Secondary. Each employee, where possible, shall be given at least ninety (90) days written notice of assignment to a secondary place of employment more than fifteen (15) miles from the employee’s principal place of employment. The employee shall be granted, upon written request, a conference with the person responsible for making the change to express concerns regarding such change. If the assignment to a secondary place of employment is made within a regular full-time appointment, the supervisor is encouraged to make an appropriate adjustment in the assignment in recognition of additional time spent traveling to a secondary place of employment. Necessary travel expenses incurred, including overnight lodging and meals, for all assignments not at the employee’s principal place of employment shall be paid at the State rate and in accordance with the applicable provisions of State law.
Secondary. A secondary teacher who, during his/her conference and preparation time and at the request of the administration, assumes teaching responsibilities for a class of pupils regularly assigned at that time to another classroom teacher is per- forming as a temporary substitute teacher and will be compensated at the rate of $25.00 per hour or major fraction thereof. Teachers in schools with block schedules shall receive $37.50 per period (one and one-half hours) or major fraction thereof. Such compensation shall not be paid for more than one such hour per day.
Secondary. High school and middle school Employees shall be given one
(1) uninterrupted preparation/conference period per day of the same length as the regular class period. Subject to the total school schedule, a maximum of thirty (30) minutes per week at the high school level and a maximum of thirty (30) minutes per week at the middle school level shall be available for use at the principal’s discretion. Every effort shall be made to provide no more than three (3) different course preparations per day.
Secondary. 1. A member designated by the principal as a 504 coordinator for the school year will be paid at Range 2 per semester as provided in Article 150, Added Duty Activities. Pay will be prorated while serving for less than a full school term.

Secondary. Secondary classroom unit members shall select at least one (1) objective which reflects district/site goals in a subject area within their major or minor teaching field or teaching assignment.

Teachers at the high school and junior high school shall have a preparation period each day during which they will not be assigned to any other duties except for emergencies or unusual scheduling problems. (See Article IV 4-7) This preparation time shall be equal to a daily class period in length and be within the normal student day. This preparation time shall be in addition to the teacher’s lunch period.

Individual teacher’s academic classes shall be no more than thirty-six (36) pupils each.
