Common use of Premium Pay/Compensatory Time Off Clause in Contracts

Premium Pay/Compensatory Time Off. If an employee works on a holiday, she or he will be paid double time for all hours worked on the holiday, or at the employee's option, shall be granted an equal number of hours of compensatory time off. Such compensatory time off shall be taken within a four (4) week period following said holiday, subject to Section 10.4 below, and the employee may request which day off he/she prefers, not to include a holiday, based on seniority. To be eligible for holiday pay or compensatory time off, an employee must have worked his/her regularly scheduled workday immediately preceding and following the holiday unless the employee is off on approved paid leave, work related injury or hospitalization, not to include paid sick leave.
