If the teacher cannot resolve the complaint, it shall be processed according to the procedures outlined in Paragraph B of this Article.

Complaints based on hearsay or received from anonymous sources shall summarily be disregarded.

However, prior to the investigation of the complaint, the employee involved will be advised of the nature of the complaint by the building administrator who will be responsible for scheduling conferences between the complainant and the teacher involved. All such complaints, except those which are unusual or emergency in nature, shall be directed through the Board's complaint procedure as per Board Policy. The Board agrees to remand all complaints through the policy procedure before any action is taken, except in the case of unusual circumstance or emergency. Should this complaint result in negative or derogatory materials being placed in the teacher's file, the teacher shall be given the opportunity to respond and meet with the person making the complaint. If the complainant refuses to meet with the employee, all references to the complaint shall be destroyed, unless the complainant’s refusal to participate in the meeting is protected under Federal Statute, Title VI & Title IX.
