Professional and Educational Leave. Education can be looked on as training and development. Training is required while development expands the level of skills of a nurse. Training is usually required by the Employer and development requested by the nurse. It is felt that all staff will require both training and development throughout their career and that the County should require upgrading and encourage development. It is stressed that all nurses are involved, not just supervisory personnel. The County portion of any educational programme is conditional upon successful completion of the programme by the nurse.
