Progression. All increases authorized by this section shall be effective at the start of the pay period nearest to the anniversary date of required service. Employees may receive a one-step salary increase annually on their anniversary date, provided their performance is satisfactory, up to and including the maximum salary rate for their class. However, Graduate Engineer 1, Graduate Engineer Trainee, Land Surveyor in Training, Graduate Engineer 2, and Graduate Land Surveyor Trainee employees may receive a one-step salary increase every six months from the prior increase, provided their performance is satisfactory, up to and including the maximum salary rate for their class. For all employees employed, promoted, reinstated after resignation or retirement, or re- employed after May 30, 1973, the anniversary date shall be the month and date of such action.

Transition to New Progression System Effective July 1, 2007 for Supervisors in Classes Assigned to Progression Code 2. All step increases authorized by this section shall be granted on a semi-annual or annual basis based on satisfactory performance as prescribed in subsection D below. C. Establishment of Progression Date Under the New Progression System for Supervisors in Classes Assigned to Progression Code 2. To transition to the new progression system effective July 1, 2007, a one-time determination of individual progression dates shall be made for supervisors in classes assigned to progression code 2. Progression date shall be defined as the date of the last progression increase, date of hire, or date of promotion, prior to July 1, 2007. The progression date for supervisors appointed or promoted on or after July 1, 2007 shall be the last date of hire or promotion. Granting a supervisor a delayed performance increase shall not change the supervisor’s progression date. D. Progression for Supervisors Assigned to Progression Code 2, as Identified in Appendices F and G. Supervisors shall advance to the next higher step in their salary range on their progression date as defined in subsection C above. Advancement from step one to step two and from step two to step three shall occur semi-annually. Supervisors at or beyond the third step shall advance to the next higher step in their salary range annually until the maximum rate of pay is attained.
