Common use of Promoted Employees Clause in Contracts

Promoted Employees. An employee who is promoted to a position with a higher salary range shall be placed on step to the nearest higher step in the new salary range effective as of the date of assumption of duties of the new position. If this is less than a full step in the new range, an additional step shall be granted immediately and not in excess of the maximum of the range. Such promoted employee shall receive the next step, unless already at the maximum of the range, effective as of the first day of the first full biweekly pay period following completion of 6.5 longevity credits in such position.
