Calamity Day Pay. 1. When schools are closed because of an "act of God," inclement weather, hazardous road conditions, high water, no water, no heat, no power, etc., only those bargaining unit members who are required by the Administration to report to work shall do so. All other bargaining unit members not so required are not obliged to report to work and will not be docked for the days or days in question. If, however, such day or days are made up at some other time, it is understood that no extra pay will be given for that day or those days in question for those who did not report to work on the calamity day. 2. Each full-time custodian who was required to report to work during a calamity day shall be paid one and one-quarter (1.25) times his/her hourly rate for those hours worked only. 3. If schools are on a delayed schedule, bargaining unit members shall report as close to regular time as is possible. 4. Calamity day pay shall not be counted as hours worked for overtime.

Calamity Day Pay. A. All support staff employees shall be paid their appropriate rate of pay for all days or part of a day when schools are closed owing to an epidemic, weather or other public calamity. B. If required to work on a calamity day, an employee shall be paid straight time for all hours worked in addition to their regular pay for the day.
Calamity Day Pay. 16.01 All employees shall be paid their appropriate rate of pay for all days or part of a day when the schools are closed owing to an epidemic, weather or other public calamity. 16.02 If required to work on a calamity day, an employee shall be paid straight time for all hours worked in addition to their regular pay for the day. 16.03 In the event calamity days exceed five (5) in one school year, employees who were not required to work on calamity days shall work make-up days for those in excess of five (5) without added pay unless the hours actually worked exceed the employees regular contractual hours for the year. In that event, the employee shall be paid the employee’s appropriate rate of pay for added hours actually worked.
Calamity Day Pay. 1. When schools are closed due to an emergency that would jeopardize the health, safety and welfare of students, an employee who is not required to be present will be paid for that day at the regular straight time rate. 2. Designated employees, required to perform work on such days, will be paid at the following rates: a) All hours worked during the employee’s normal work schedule hours will be paid at the straight time rate (in addition to his/her regular straight time pay). b) Any hours worked outside the employee’s normal work schedule hours (before or after), will be paid at the appropriate overtime rate, providing authorization had been received beforehand. c) Any employee directed to perform a building check will be paid at the straight time rate (in addition to his/her regular straight time pay), notwithstanding the provisions of Article 6, Section D “Overtime,” paragraph 7. 3. This provision applies during the times when school is in normal session and pupils are scheduled for attendance. 4. When reasonably possible when schools are closed for calamity days, employees will be notified of the closing decision prior to arriving at work. Any employee who is not notified of the closing of school and who shows up for work will be paid one (1) hour of pay or for the actual time worked, whichever is greater, at the straight time rate, in addition to calamity pay. Further, should schools be closed due to a public calamity for more than five (5) days in a school year, the parties agree that such additional days may be made up as scheduled by the Board without additional compensation to affected employees excluding Saturday, Sunday and holidays.
Calamity Day Pay. 23.1 A calamity day occurs when all the programs of the County Board are closed. Partial shutdowns do not constitute a calamity day. All programs include the Administration offices, Early Intervention, Xxxxx School, and Service and Support Administration. 23.2 It is understood that any call-in which starts prior to the regular shift and continues into the employee's regular shift or time worked immediately following the regular shift, shall not be eligible for the minimum as provide in Section 23.1 above. 23.3 All employees are required to report to work unless a calamity day per Article 23.1 is called. Employees unable to report may request leave time in accordance with Board policies and procedures in affect at the time of the calamity day. 23.4 Employees required to work on a calamity day shall be compensated at time and one-half (1 1/2) their regular hourly rate for all hours worked. 23.5 If an employee reports to work in good faith, and a calamity day was called after that person reported to work, the employee would be compensated at time and one-half for the time worked and credited the remainder of the day under calamity hours.

In the event the schools are closed and fall under the minimum state-mandated instructional hours or the minimum determined by the District, as referenced in ORC Section 3313.48, and make-up days/hours must be scheduled, employees will not receive additional compensation. 2. When a school or schools are closed prior to the regular work day, any bargaining unit employee required to work during such closure shall receive calamity day pay at their regular hourly rate. A minimum of two (2) hours shall be paid. 3. Should a school or schools be closed, after employees have reported to work, the employee shall be paid Calamity Day Pay, for all hours worked, commencing one hour after closing has been announced. 4. Employees may request to receive time off in lieu of Calamity Day Pay. If approved by the Superintendent, time off will be at straight time. Time off must be taken no later than August 15 in the summer following the school year in which the calamity occurred.
Calamity Day Pay. If an employee is called to work on a day classified as a calamity day as defined in Article 27.1 of the Agreement, compensation shall be at one (1) times the employee's regular rate of pay for all hours worked on said call-in plus the employee shall receive his regular day wages.

Calamity Day Pay. When the Superintendent declares a calamity day, employees may be required to work to maintain the reasonable operation of the schools. Employees required to work on a calamity day will be paid their regular hourly rate plus that hourly rate paid again (double time) for hours worked on any such day. Employees who have reported to work before a calamity day has been declared and prior to the normal start of school shall also be paid double time, as defined above, for the hours required to work. Employees required to work shall make a reasonable effort to report to work and shall immediately notify their supervisor if they are unable to do so. Employees required to report to work on a calamity day shall receive a minimum of two (2) hours of calamity pay. Employees scheduled to work must work in their own job classification.

On days with no students, Supervisors will provide training or other duties within the building. 23.4 Employees required to work on a calamity day shall be compensated at time and one-half (1 1/2) their regular hourly rate for all hours worked. 23.5 If an employee reports to work in good faith, and a calamity day was called after that person reported to work, the employee would be compensated at time and one-half for the time worked and credited the remainder of the day under calamity hours.
