Provincial Committee. A nurse who is elected to a Provincial Committee of the Ontario Nurses' Association, shall be granted upon request such leave(s) of absence as she may require to fulfill the duties of her position. Reasonable notice shall be given to the Employer for such leave of absence. There shall be no loss of seniority or service during such leave of absence. Leave of absence under this provision shall be in addition to the Association leave provided elsewhere in this Agreement. During such leave of absence, the nurse's salary and applicable benefits shall be maintained by the Employer and the Association agrees to reimburse the Employer in the amount of the full cost of such salary and 19% for applicable benefits.

Provincial Committee. The Company and the Union shall meet within the first two (2) months from the start of each year to: (a) Review duties, roles, and responsibilities of a store health and safety committee; (b) Review any form(s) or paperwork to be given to store health and safety committees. Provincial Committee. Places of employment employing less than six (6) em- ployees shall be covered by a provincial Committee. This Committee shall be composed of equal representa- tion from the Union and the Employer.

  • Joint Safety Committee (a) The Union and the Company shall cooperate in selecting one or more Safety Committees, which will meet at least once a month to consider all safety and occupational health problems. (b) The local Joint Safety Committee shall consist of equal representation from Company and Union. This Committee shall meet at least once a month to consider all safety and occupational health problems.

  • LABOR MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE Section 1. In order to facilitate communication between labor and management, a Labor Management Committee consisting of the Department Head and/or his designated alternate, the Assistant Chief of Police and two (2) Team Managers, and three (3) representatives of the Lincoln Police Union, along with at least one (1) Team Representative, will make up the Labor Management Committee. The Department Head will designate management personnel and the Union shall select Union representatives. Members will serve at the pleasure of the Department Head or Union President, depending upon who the member represents. Members will serve and be replaced on a staggered system (approximately three (3) year limit) depending upon the schedule agreed upon by the Department Head and the Union President. Section 2. Each Team area will be represented by a member of any rank to serve as spokesperson for that area. They will meet at least one week prior to the monthly Labor Management Committee meeting to formulate the common areas of interest and to elect a spokesperson to present the items in writing to the Labor Management Committee. Payment for attending this meeting will be at the discretion of the Department Head. Spokesperson will be chosen on a rotating basis. Team representatives will be picked by a vote of the Team members that they are representing. Section 3. The Labor Management Committee may discuss any area of the Department, with limitation only on those areas already under agreement between the City and the Union. The agenda will be based on the problem areas brought to the attention of the Committee by the Team Representatives and on any area representative members of Labor Management feel need to be discussed. Topics for discussion will be posted on the Union bulletin board and disseminated to Labor Management Committee members at least one (1) week prior to the monthly meeting. Section 4. Membership is subject to change through attrition and elected office, however, a one (1) week notice must be given to the Committee to afford the new member(s) voting privileges. Section 5. Realizing that communication is the key element to the smooth operation of any organization, the Labor Management Committee will xxxxxx an element of cooperation and unity of organizational members, be they labor or management. Section 6. Meetings shall be held at least once per calendar month. Additional meetings may be scheduled by mutual agreement of the Committee and the Department Head. Section 7. A quorum shall consist of two (2) members from labor and two (2) members from management.

  • Health and Safety Committee The Employer and the Union agree that they mutually desire to maintain standards of safety and health in the Home in order to prevent injury and illness. (a) A joint management and employee health and safety committee shall be constituted, with representation of at least half by employees from the bargaining unit, which shall identify potential dangers, recommend means of improving the health and safety programs and obtaining information from the Employer or other persons respecting the identification of hazards and standards elsewhere. The committee shall normally meet at least once a month. Scheduled time spent in such meetings is to be considered time worked. Minutes shall be taken of all meetings and copies shall be sent to the Employer and to the Union. Two (2) representatives from the Joint Health and Safety Committee, one (1) from management and one (1) from the employees, shall make monthly inspection of the workplace and equipment and shall report to the health and safety committee the results of their inspections. In the event of accident or injury, such representatives shall be notified, and if available, shall assist in investigating and report as soon as possible to the committee and to the Employer on the nature and causes of the accident or injury. Furthermore, such representatives must be notified of the inspection of a Ministry of Labour inspector and shall have the right, if on shift, to accompany him on his inspections. Scheduled times spent in all such activities shall be considered as time worked. Employees who are not direct care employees will be made aware of special procedures required of them to deal with these circumstances. The parties agree that all employees are aware of the requirement to practice universal precautions in all circumstances. (b) Union staff or Union Health and Safety advisors or consultants shall be provided access to the workplace, with the approval of the Administrator if required to attend Health and Safety Committee meetings, or for inspecting, investigating or monitoring the workplace. (c) Union members of the Health and Safety Committee shall be entitled to time off from work with no loss of seniority or earnings to attend seminars sponsored by government agencies or the Union for instruction and upgrading on Health and Safety matters. Such time off shall be at the discretion of the Administrator and shall not be the subject matter of a grievance. (d) The Joint Health and Safety Committee and the representatives thereof shall have reasonable access to the annual summary of data from the Workers' Compensation Board relating to the number of work accidents, fatalities, the number of lost workday cases, the number of non-fatal cases that required medical aid without lost workdays, the incidence of occupational injuries, and such other data, as the Workers' Compensation Board may decide to disclose. (e) The Employer shall make all affected direct care employees aware of residents who have serious infectious diseases. The nature of the disease need not be disclosed. Employees who are not direct care employees will be made aware of special procedures required of them to deal with these circumstances. The parties agree that all employees are aware of the requirement to practice universal precautions in all circumstances.
