  • Prior Service The City’s contract with CalPERS provides the prior service benefit as set forth in Government Code section 20055.

  • Prior Service Credit A unit employee who has had a break in service shall be credited with prior periods of full-time state employment for leave accrual purposes if that employee's current period of full-time state employment has been three (3) or more continuous years in duration. Only prior periods of full-time state employment of two (2) or more consecutive years in duration shall be eligible for crediting.

  • Our Service The services that you have selected and the charges for those services are confirmed in Section 9 - Your Consent at the end of this agreement. We agree to provide the services selected and you agree to pay us for those services. Any advice or recommendation that we offer to you, will only be given after we have assessed your needs and considered your financial objectives and attitude to any risks that may be involved.   • COURT SERVICE If an employee is required to appear in court or pursuant to a subpoena or other order of a court or body or to perform jury service, and such appearance or service results in his/her absence from work, he/she shall be granted court service leave for the period of time necessary to fulfill such requirement. Any employee who makes an appearance and whose service is not required shall return to work as soon as practicable after release. An employee on court service leave for a full day shall receive the difference between the payment received for such court service, excluding any travel allowance, and his/her regular pay. Any employee returning to work from court service leave shall be paid by the State for his/her actual hours worked or a minimum of the difference between payment received from the court, excluding any travel allowance, and his/her regular pay, whichever is greater. The provisions of this Article shall not apply to an employee summoned to or appearing before a court or body as a party to any private legal action which is not job related.

  • GOVERNMENT SERVICE 1. a) Salaries, wages and other similar remuneration, other than a pension, paid by a Contracting State or a political subdivision or a local authority thereof to an individual in respect of services rendered to that State or subdivision or authority shall be taxable only in that State.

  • OUR SERVICE TO YOU We will act honestly, fairly and professionally in accordance with Your best interests. We will normally represent You, rather than acting on behalf of the insurer. Examples of this type of service would include ‘single insurer’ or ‘panel of insurers’ type arrangements. • Not under a contractual obligation to place exclusively with one or more insurers and We do not give a personal recommendation on the basis of a fair and personal analysis of the market (in which case We will provide You with the names of those insurers). An example of this type of service would be where We only approach Your existing insurers for renewal terms. We will identify Your demands and needs and ensure that the insurance contract being proposed is consistent with them. Where We give advice and a personal recommendation, We will explain why the insurance contract being proposed best meets Your demands and needs. If We do not give You advice and a personal recommendation, You are responsible for ensuring that the insurance contract being proposed is suitable for You. We will provide You with a letter/report setting out key aspects of the insurance cover being proposed; however, this is not intended to be a substitute for the insurer(s) policy wording, which will take precedence in setting out the terms of the cover. We will endeavor to place insurance cover on Your behalf, but We do not guarantee to be able to do this. We will provide You with details of the cover effected on Your behalf, including the insurer who is underwriting the risk. Where We offer to arrange a facility with a premium finance provider which allows You to pay Your insurance premium by regular instalments, We do not offer advice in relation to this facility; however, We may ask some questions to narrow down the selection of options available. You must make Your own choice on which option to accept. When arranging a facility with a premium finance provider on Your behalf, We only act as a credit broker; We do not act as a lender. Although We take care to ensure that the information contained on Our website is accurate and up to date, We give You no promises, representations or warranties about the accuracy, completeness, reliability or suitability of any information on Our website.

  • Government and Service Employees' Union The leave shall be for a period of three years and shall be renewed upon request.

  • Mediation Service The Mediation Service is a free and independent service available through MBIE. This service helps to resolve employment relationship problems and generally to promote the smooth conduct of employment relationships. Mediation is a mutual problem solving process, with the aim of reaching an agreement, assisted by an independent third party. If the parties can’t reach a settlement they can ask the mediator, in writing, to make a final and binding decision. A settlement reached through mediation and signed by the mediator at the request of the parties is final, binding and enforceable. Neither party can then take the matter any further and either party can be made to comply with the agreed settlement by court order. If the problem is unresolved through mediation either party may apply to have the matter dealt with by the Employment Relations Authority.

  • Application for Service (a) You must comply with any application form or process we specify.

  • Written Employee Jury Service Policy 1. Unless the Contractor has demonstrated to the County’s satisfaction either that the Contractor is not a “Contractor” as defined under the Jury Service Program (Section 2.203.020 of the County Code) or that the Contractor qualifies for an exception to the Jury Service Program (Section 2.203.070 of the County Code), the Contractor shall have and adhere to a written policy that provides that its Employees shall receive from the Contractor, on an annual basis, no less than five days of regular pay for actual jury service. The policy may provide that Employees deposit any fees received for such jury service with the Contractor or that the Contractor deduct from the Employee’s regular pay the fees received for jury service.
