Absences and Leaves In the event that one member of the job/time sharing arrangement is off due to illness or injury or goes on any other leave of absence, the remaining partner will endeavour to cover all of the absent partner’s shifts for the duration of the absence. If the employee is unable to cover the absences, she or he must inform the Director of Resident Care or designate.
Other Paid Leave 1Leave periods outside the Work/Leave Rotation Cycle as per Annex 1, article 3.2 shall not be paid unless required by this Agreement or for other mandatory reasons (“Other Paid Leave Days”). 2When an employee falls sick or suffers an accident during the Leave Period and such sickness or accident prevents him/her from returing to the Work Site in accordance with the Work/Leave Rotation Cycle, he or she has to notify the Company and the Site Manager immediately (article 9.4 para. 7 – 10 shall also apply).
Unpaid Leave 6. Accrued compensatory time off may be used at the employee’s discretion, with management approval, after exhaustion of 100% sick leave (No. 3 above). However, FLSA compensatory time off shall not be counted against the employee’s four (4) month (nine [9] pay period [720 hours]) family or medical leave entitlement. Therefore, any use of FLSA compensatory time off under this Section shall extend the employee’s family or medical leave by the total amount of FLSA compensatory time off used.
Other Paid Leaves One-half (1/2) the entitlement provided for in the Agreement.
Unpaid Sick Leave The City Manager shall, upon the advice and recommendation of the City physician, grant unpaid sick leave for up to one (1) year upon application of any employee whose paid sick leave is exhausted. Any extension of such leave shall be subject to the Civil Service Board rules.
Unpaid Leave of Absence If an employee is on an unpaid leave of absence, then vacation leave, compensatory time, or sick leave cannot be used for the purpose of maintaining eligibility for an Employer Contribution by keeping the employee on a State payroll for one (1) working day per pay period.
Unpaid Leaves of Absence A. A department head or designee may grant an unpaid leave of absence for a period not to exceed one (1) year. The employee shall provide substantiation to support the employee's request for an unpaid leave of absence.
Absences Section 1. All leaves of absence shall be without pay except as otherwise provided in this Article.
Unpaid Leaves Employees on unpaid leaves may not participate in the matching program while on leave.
Intermittent Leave 7 Intermittent leave without pay used in lieu of sick leave is not 8 subject to the six (6) month entitlement provided for above. When such leave significantly 9 affects an employee’s job performance and is not subject to the requirements of law 10 (including but not limited to the FMLA), management may evaluate the employee’s use of 11 leave according to the criteria of “Section B.2.c” above.
