Common use of RECOGNIZED PAID HOLIDAYS Clause in Contracts

RECOGNIZED PAID HOLIDAYS. The work year is the Ministry Approved school year plus ten (10) working days prior to the Ministry Approved school year (which includes the two (2) Professional Development Days), plus four (4) working days following the Ministry approved school year. Employees shall be granted the following recognized paid holidays: Labour Day Thanksgiving Day Christmas Day Boxing Day New Years Day Good Friday Easter Monday Victoria Day Christmas Eve Day Canada Day Family Day (b) Twelve (12) month employees, and employees scheduled to work surrounding the August 1st Civic Holiday, shall be paid for this holiday.
