Reduction of Work Force & Replacement Rights During School Year. Notice: When reducing the work force during the school year, the School Board will reduce hours or layoff by classification the least senior paraprofessional by location/program, as identified by the supervisor/building principal. The employee affected by the layoff will be given fourteen (14) calendar days written notice of layoff.
Subd. 1. When reducing the workforce during the school year, positions funded by Community Education will not replace positions funded by the General Fund and vice versa. Community Education funded paraprofessional positions are Kids Club, ECFE, and PreK.

Employees receiving notice of reduction of work force during the school year will replace the least senior person in their building/program. If there is no least senior person in their building/program, they will replace the least senior person in the same classification with the same or next fewest number of hours. If no position in the same classification can be identified, the affected employee will replace the least senior person in the other classification with the same or next fewest number of hours. Employees who do not secure a position through this process will move to lay-off status and have the Right to Reclaim as noted in Section 3, Subd.2.
