Required Rest Period Clause Samples
Required Rest Period. Any employee who works over sixteen (16) hours continuous work shall receive no less than eight (8) hours of uninterrupted rest before reporting back to work. In addition, the employee will receive a 1/2 hour travel time home and a 1/2 hour travel time to return to work (a total of one (1) hour travel time). Any employee who works over twenty-four (24) hours of continuous work shall receive no less than twelve (12) hours of uninterrupted rest before reporting back to work. Should said rest period overlap the employee's normal shift time, the employee will receive Administrative Leave for those hours during the required rest period, which overlap the employee's normal scheduled work shift.
Required Rest Period a. A Flight Attendant who is scheduled to perform military charter flying as provided for in Paragraph J, must be given a minimum layover rest equal to twice the scheduled or actual flying time, whichever is greater, not to exceed twenty-four (24) hours.
b. The layover rest period following the charter duty period, and preceding a duty period in which only deadheading is performed, shall be a minimum of twelve (12) hours. This rest period may be waived by the Flight Attendant to deadhead.
c. The minimum rest period preceding a duty period involving eight (8) or more block hours shall never be less than twelve (12) hours.
Required Rest Period. No employee shall be required to work in excess of a straight sixteen hour period of employment. This means that an employee who begins their period of employment at 7:00 am and is required to work beyond the normal quitting time of 3:30 pm must “go off the clock” at 11:00 pm. Should an employee be required to work in excess of twelve (12) hours, that employee will not be required to return to their place of employment until that employee has been removed from his place of employment for a period of eight (8) hours.
Required Rest Period. 1. A pilot who is scheduled to perform CRAF flying that is an exception to the Basic Agreement must be given a minimum layover rest period equal to twice the scheduled or actual flying time, whichever is greater, not to exceed twenty-four (24) hours.
2. The layover rest period following a duty period under this Agreement, and preceding a duty period in which only deadheading is performed, shall be a minimum of twelve (12) hours. This rest period may be waived by the pilot to deadhead.
3. The minimum rest period preceding a duty period involving eight (8) or more hours of duty aloft shall never be less than twelve (12) hours.
