Extended Overtime. There shall be no extended amount of overtime worked in any operation while there are employees on lay-off in the same or similar type of operation and qualified to perform the available work.

Extended Overtime. Extended overtime is scheduled overtime which is contiguous to (either preceding or following) an employee's regularly scheduled shift. When an employee's shift is extended by scheduling them in for overtime with twenty-four
Extended Overtime. Any employee actively working sixteen (16) or more consecutive hours shall be given an eight (8) hour rest period before returning to work. Paid release time will be provided for any portion of the eight (8) hours which occurs during the employees regular work schedule.
Extended Overtime. To minimize the safety concerns that may result from employees working extended overtime, the following required rest periods and compensation provisions are established:
Extended Overtime. Employees required to work more than four (4) hours beyond the end of their scheduled workshift shall be paid at two times (2x) their regular rate of pay for all time worked beyond the first four hours of overtime.

Extended Overtime. Snow and Ice operations and other situations represent an emergency to the community and thus requires that all employees respond. The Town and DPW are responsible for insuring that all emergencies are addressed in a manner that insures rapid response, protects the health and safety of the community and residents, and insures that the emergency situation is resolved efficiently and effectively. The following guidelines will be followed in emergency situations that require extended hours of work:  Staff will be released upon completion of the emergency as determined by the Director of Public Works or his designee.  As has been provided in the past, rest will be provided during the emergency as needed. Employees will remain at the job during emergencies.  If an emergency extends more than 18 hours, an employee will be guaranteed an 8 hour rest period upon completion of the emergency.  If the emergency ends by 3:00 a.m., the employee must return to work by 11:00 a.m. on the next regularly scheduled work day; if the work day is the next day after the emergency. If the next day is a weekend or holiday, the employee will return on the next scheduled workday at 7:00 a.m.  If the emergency ends after 3:00 a.m., employees will not return the next scheduled workday, if the workday is the next day after the emergency. If the next day is a weekend or holiday, the employee will return on the next scheduled workday at 7:00 a.m.  If another emergency occurs, employees will be required to return regardless of the amount of rest received.  Skeleton crew may be required to remain at the job site. The number of employees required to remain will be determined by the Director of Public Works or his designee.
Extended Overtime. (i) When an Employee is required to work more than four (4) hours prior to the start of a regular shift, double time (x2) will be paid for the period prior to the regular shift and double time (x2) for the regular shift, if worked.

  • Daily Overtime All employees shall be paid the applicable overtime rate of time and one-half (1-1/2) for all time worked in excess of eight (8) hours per day.

  • HOURS AND OVERTIME 3:1 A workweek is defined as seven (7) consecutive calendar days, from Saturday midnight to Saturday midnight. The basic workweek shall consist of five (5) workdays of eight (8) hours each and shall begin Monday and run through Friday, except when a job other than for a public utility is to be done on Saturday, then the Company may assign another day as a non-workday and Saturdays becomes a workday in the basic workweek. An extended workweek shall begin at starting time Monday and continue until the next Monday starting time. The regular hours of work for all employees shall be from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with an unpaid meal period of thirty (30) minutes which normally will be from 12:00 noon to 12:30 p.m. provided, however, that the regular lunch period may be advance or delayed an hour or less when work must necessarily be performed during the regular lunch period. Such a change in the lunch period shall not be deemed to require the payment of overtime. The regular hours of work may be changed by the Company at the request or direction of the public utility or governmental authorities, and by mutual agreement between the Company and the Union. The Company may change the start times by 30 minutes in either direction of the regular start time to meet the operational need without union approval. Such a change in the regular hours of work shall not be deemed to require the payment of overtime.
