Rest Between Shifts. Unless performing standby duty, each nurse shall be entitled to an unbroken rest period of at least ten (10) hours between shifts. Any time worked without the required rest shall be paid at the premium rate of time and one-half the regular rate of pay. For purposes of this paragraph, (1) working at the request of other nurses or as a result of trades or (2) attending a non-mandatory meeting or non-mandatory education day shall not be deemed an event that disrupts an otherwise unbroken rest period.
