Common use of Rest/Meal Periods Clause in Contracts

Rest/Meal Periods. Every employee shall be entitled to a fifteen (15) minute rest period without deduction of pay, to commence between two (2) to three (3) hours after the commencement of both of his or her half shifts. The unpaid lunch period of one-half (1/2) hour duration shall commence as near to the mid-point of the schedule as possible. Employees scheduled to work a twelve (12) hour shift shall be entitled to a first rest period of twenty (20) minutes and a second rest period of twenty- five (25) minutes on Company time, at the midway point of their first six (6) hours and midway point of their second six (6) hours.
