Rest Relief after Overtime. 54.1 An employee who works so much overtime between the termination of his or her ordinary duty on one day and the commencement of his or her ordinary duty on the next day that he or she has not had at least eight consecutive hours off duty between those times, will, subject to this clause, be released after completion of such overtime until he or she has had eight consecutive hours off duty without loss of pay for ordinary working time occurring during such absence. Reasonable travelling time, in addition to the eight hours off duty, will be allowed to cover time taken in travelling from and to his or her place of employment. 54.2 Provided that if such an employee is required to resume or continue work without having had eight consecutive hours off duty plus reasonable travelling time, he or she will be paid at double rate until he or she is released from duty for such period and he or she will then be entitled to be absent until he or she has had eight consecutive hours off duty plus reasonable travelling time, without loss of pay for ordinary working time occurring during that absence. 54.3 The provisions of sub-clause 54.1 will not apply to overtime worked in the circumstances covered by clause 55 (Emergency Duty), unless the actual time worked (excluding travelling time) is at least three hours on each call. 54.4 The provisions of this clause will apply only to employees who are eligible for overtime payment. 54.5 Provided that in lieu of clause 55 (Emergency Duty), the provisions of this clause will apply.

Rest Relief after Overtime. 54.1 An C11.1 In this clause employee who works so much overtime between refers to employees other than casual employees.
C11.2 Unless the termination head of his or her ordinary service directs an employee to report for duty on one day and earlier, the commencement employee must have a continuous period of his or her ordinary duty on the next day that he or she has not had at least eight consecutive hours off duty between those timesceasing overtime duty following normal duty one day, willand commencing normal daily hours of work the following day.
C11.3 An employee is entitled to be absent from duty, subject to this clause, be released after completion of such overtime until he or she has had eight consecutive hours off duty without loss of pay pay, until the employee has been off duty for ordinary working time occurring during such absence. Reasonable travelling time, in addition to the a continuous period of eight hours off duty, will be allowed to cover time taken in travelling from and to his or her place of employmentplus reasonable travel time.

b) the employee will then be entitled to be absent until he or she the employee has had eight consecutive hours off duty plus reasonable travelling time, without loss of pay for any ordinary working time occurring during that absence.
54.3 C11.5 The provisions of sub-clause 54.1 will subclauses C11.1 to C11.4 do not apply to overtime worked in the circumstances covered by clause 55 (Emergency Duty), C17 unless the actual time worked (excluding travelling time) is at least three hours on each call.
54.4 The provisions of this clause will apply only to employees who are eligible for overtime payment.
54.5 Provided that in lieu of clause 55 (Emergency Duty), the provisions of this clause will apply.
