Return from Approved Leave. Except as may otherwise be provided for by law, an employee who returns from an approved leave of absence under this Article will either (1) be placed in the position she or he occupied at the time the leave began, if that position is available; or (2) be placed in a position with hours of work that are as similar as those of the position the employee held at the time the leave began.

  • Return from Leave (a) On return from leave, an employee will be placed in their former position.

  • Return from Leaves An Employee returning from a leave of absence shall return to his/her former position and location he/she held at the time of the leave unless he/she has been laid off or displaced in accordance with the provisions of the Collective Agreement.

  • Early Return From Leave If the amount of leave needed is actually less than initially requested, the employee must notify the District of such an occurrence. Once the employee provides such notification, the District must reinstate the employee to the same or equivalent position within two (2) days.

  • Return from Reemployment The employee’s previous salary eligibility date, adjusted by the amount of break-in- service, shall represent the earliest salary eligibility date following return. However, the salary eligibility date may be established as the first of the month in any future month up to twelve (12) months from the date of reemployment.

  • ABSENCE FROM WORK AND REPORTING 18.01 If an employee is unable to report for work, she/he shall give the Employer a minimum of four (4) hours notice. In case of day shift work, this time element will be one and one-half (1½) hours for nursing and dietary, one (1) hour for all other departments, and one (1) hour for all shifts that commence before 7:00 a.m. If notice is not given within the required time, the employee shall not be entitled to her/his sick pay on the first (1st) day of illness.

  • Returning from Leave Employees returning early from leave of absence must submit a request to return to work in writing. Employees returning from a medical leave of absence may be required to certify their ability to return to work at least five (5) working days prior to the requested date of the return. Employees returning early from leave must wait for the next available job opening. Employees returning on the planned date will be placed in the position they left, or an equivalent position.

  • Reinstatement from Leave Upon completion of a leave of absence, the employee is to be returned to the position formerly occupied, or to a similar position if the employee's former position no longer exists. Any replacement in the position while an employee is on leave is to be on a temporary basis.
