Paid Educational Leave a. An employee may request special paid leave at straight-time hourly rate which may be granted employees for educational purposes which will benefit the State by adding to or strengthening employee skills or knowledge and to allow employees to attend approved conferences, professional meetings and workshops.
Educational Leave Leave without pay may be granted for educational leave for the duration of actual attendance in an educational program.
Educational Leave of Absence Leaves of absence may be granted up to six (6) months under the above provisions only if the course would be beneficial to both the University and the employee.
Paid Education Leave The Company agrees to pay into a special fund, one (1¢) cent per hour per employee for all compensated hours for the purpose of providing paid education leave. Such leave will be for upgrading the employee skills in all aspects of trade union functions. PRIVATE BUSINESS/GENERAL/PERSONAL LEAVES OF ABSENCE 12.1 In consultation with the Principal, and with two (2) weeks’ notice where possible, a teacher shall be granted two (2) fully paid days personal leave per school year, except where there is a conflict with the operational feasibility of the school. Education Leave (a) If required by the Employer, an employee shall be entitled to leave of absence with pay and without loss of seniority and benefits to write examinations to upgrade his or her employment qualifications.
Family Medical Leave or Critical Illness Leave a) Family Medical Leave or Critical Illness leaves granted to a permanent Teacher or long-term Occasional Teacher under this Article shall be in accordance with the provisions of the Employment Standards Act, 2000, as amended.
