Role of Seniority in Promotions and Transfers. The parties agree to the principle of promotion from within the service of the Employer and that job opportunity should increase in proportion to length of service. Seniority is accumulated on only one (1) list at any one time. Priority is given to names on List 1, List 2, and then those serving a probationary period. In the event that a position is filled by an employee serving a probationary period, then that probationary period shall start again upon the assumption of the new position. The vacancy created by the transfer of this probationary employee does not require reposting.
