Common use of Scheduling Vacation Leave Clause in Contracts

Scheduling Vacation Leave. Vacation leave should be applied for in advance by the employee and may be used only when approved by the Agency Head and/or his/her Designee. Vacation leave may not be unreasonably denied or deferred so that the employee is deprived of vacation rights. (Department of Health and Human Services employees covered by this Contract see Appendix C for Vacation Posting provisions.) (Department of Correctional Services employees covered by this Contract see Appendix M for Vacation Posting provisions.) 14.6.1 Notwithstanding any other provision in this contract, all vacation leave requests made electronically or in writing will be approved or denied electronically or in writing within seven (7) calendar days of receipt of the request, or within 18 work days of the closing date of their annual vacation scheduling.
