School Visitation Leave. Eligible employees that have been employed at least six (6) consecutive months may take up to a maximum of eight (8) unpaid hours during any school year to attend school conferences or classroom activities related to the employee’s children if the conference or classroom activities cannot be scheduled during non-work hours. An employee may not take more than four (4) hours of school visitation leave in one day, and the leave may not be taken if the employee has not exhausted all accrued vacation leave, personal leave or any other type of leave, except for sick or disability leave. The employee must provide their supervisor with at least seven (7) days advance notice. In emergency situations, no more than 24 hours’ notice is required. The employee must consult with their supervisor to schedule the leave so as not to unduly disrupt the operations of the employer.
