Section 10. Jury Leave. Any full-time or part-time nurse who is called to perform jury 16 duty will be permitted the necessary time off to perform such service, and will be paid 17 the difference between the straight-time hourly rate of pay, including shift differential, if 18 applicable, for the scheduled workdays missed and any jury duty pay received less 19 mileage. Jury Duty pay is not considered hours worked for overtime calculations. Jury 20 duty pay shall be extended only to employees who are called, not employees who 21 volunteer and shall be limited to a maximum of twenty-two (22) working days per year.

Section 10. The employee must 10 furnish a signed statement from a responsible officer of the court as proof of 11 jury service. The nurse must arrange with his/her supervisor in advance of 12 the actual jury service. Any employee released from jury duty before the end 13 of his or her regular shift shall immediately contact the nursing office to 14 determine whether work is available. The nurse released from jury duty must 15 report to work if required by the nursing office. Nurses assigned to work the 16 evening or night shift on the same day they are required to serve jury duty 17 will automatically be relieved of such assignment when spending four (4) 18 hours or more on jury duty that day.

  • Jury Leave Upon written request, supported by a copy of the summons, an employee shall be granted leave paid at the rate of her full salary, less what the court pays for the performance of the required duties, to appear for or serve jury duty, provided that such appearance and/or service actually conflicts with her scheduled duties and provided that upon return to work she shall provide her supervisor with written confirmation of the date(s) and time(s) on which she appeared and/or served, signed by an appropriate official of the Court.

  • INJURY LEAVE In the event an unusual circumstance exists regarding the original six (6) months of injury leave, and the employee did not use injury leave hours due to the injury or did not lose work time, the Fire Chief with the approval of the Human Resources Director may extend such injury leave. However, under no circumstances shall the total time granted be greater than twelve (12) months of injury leave, or an actual six (6) months of lost work time because of the injury.

  • Jury Service/Witness Leave 17.1 Employees called on for jury service are required to serve. Where the need is urgent, the Employer may apply for postponement because of particular work needs, but this may be done only in exceptional circumstances.
