Overtime Calculations. All hours of work and overtime will be calculated by rounding to the nearest tenth of an hour.

Xxxx leave, vacation leave, personal business leave, attendance at contract negotiations during regularly scheduled work hours only, injury leave and holidays for which the bargaining unit employee is paid, and compensatory time off work, will be considered hours worked for purposes of performing overtime calculations. In the event a bargaining unit employee continues to work for over twenty-four (24) straight hours, he shall continue to receive time and one-half even when working on his regular shift the following day, and continuing as long as he continues to work. Regularly scheduled work shifts shall not be altered to avoid the payment of overtime. There shall be no pyramiding of overtime.
Overtime Calculations a. Any work performed will be counted for overtime once only on the following basis: • Time worked in excess or outside an employee ordinary working hours. • Time worked in excess of the maximum hours of the work cycle as determined in clause 36.1
b. Overtime will only be paid when it has been expressly authorised in advance of the work performed.

All calculations of overtime, whether paid or compensatory time, time worked prior to or immediately following the Employee's regular shift, shall be computed in no less than fifteen (15) minute increments. The excess of any overtime work, which cannot be divided by fifteen (15) minutes shall be rounded to the nearest fifteen- (15) minutes, for the purposes of overtime calculations. The employee shall choose pay or compensatory time in writing during the overtime shift or next regular shift, otherwise said overtime shall be paid out.
Overtime Calculations. Overtime is calculated at one and a half times (1½) for work after twelve (12) hours. Double time applies to all work after sixteen (16) hours. In addition, the hourly rate will form the basis for the calculation of all other premium and penalty payments provided for in Article ON2.00. For example:
Overtime Calculations. As used in this contract, overtime (one and one-half (1 and 'A) times an employee's regular rate of pay) shall mean that the time an employee works, when authorized by the supervisor, in excess of forty (40) hours in any seven (7) consecutive days period or in excess of eight (8) hours, if on an 8 hour schedule, in any twenty-four (24) hour period. All hours worked (not including shift trades) in excess of 40 hours a week, or eight (8) hours in a twenty-four (24) hour period, if on an 8 hour schedule, shall be compensated at the overtime rate, including the City's practice of switchbacks unless arranged by the officers between themselves in order to achieve time off. Where by mutual agreement between the Association and the City that employee works four (4) ten (10)-hour shifts followed by three (3) consecutive days off, hours worked in excess of ten (10) hours in any twenty-four (24)-hour period would be would be paid at the overtime rate of one and one-half (11/2) times an employee's regular rate of pay. Where by mutual agreement between the Association and the City; the employee working the OPTION 1 twelve (12) hour patrol schedule or the OPTION 2 twelve (12) hour patrol schedule, overtime (one and one-half (1 and %:) times an employee's regular salary) shall mean that the time an employee works, when authorized by the supervisor, in excess of eighty hours in any fourteen (14) day work period or in excess of twelve (12) hours in a twenty-four (24)-hour period, depending on the regularly scheduled length of an employee's work shift. In no event shall the voluntary exchange of schedules or shift change situations, which are agreed upon by a supervisor and an employee, or which have been arranged by officers between themselves, result in the payment of overtime. Paid leave shall be treated as hours worked for purposes of calculating daily and weekly overtime entitlements pursuant to this agreement.
Overtime Calculations. The parties agreed during the negotiations that for day workers, work performed outside their regular hour scheduled day are to be paid at premium time. For example, for a day worker whose normal working day is a.m. to all work performed From to will be paid at one and one-half times the regular hourly rate, and all worked performed from to that day will be paid at two times the regularly hourly rate. This will not apply in the instance where the employee starts on a new shift schedule.
