Short-Term Unpaid Leave. A bargaining unit member who has exhausted other applicable enumerated leaves and is in need of a short-term leave may apply to the Superintendent for a leave of up to five (5) days. The bargaining unit member shall provide reasons for the leave, and the days shall be unpaid. Requests for the unpaid leave should be submitted in writing to the Superintendent as soon as possible in advance of the leave. Unpaid short-term leave when granted by the Superintendent shall be recommended to the Board of Education for approval.
