Requirements to Qualify. To be eligible for this benefit, a teacher must comply with all of the following requirements and limitations: a. Must have a minimum of twenty (20) years full-time teaching employment in Vienna High School District 13-3 on the effective date of retirement. b. Must be at least sixty (60) years of age by December 31 of the year of retirement; or c. Must be at least fifty-five (55) years of age by December 31 of the year of retirement with thirty-five (35) years of creditable service with the Illinois Teachers Retirement System; and d. Must submit an irrevocable letter of resignation for retirement. As many as the last four (4) years of an employee's career may be included in the pre-retirement period. An irrevocable letter of resignation establishing the date of retirement will create and determine the length of the pre-retirement period.

Must have a minimum of fifteen (15) years of full-time teaching service in the Collinsville School District at the time the retirement notice is submitted in order to be eligible for this early retirement incentive; and b. Must be at least sixty (60) years of age by December 31 of the year of retirement; or c. Must be at least fifty-five (55) years of age by December 31 of the year of retirement with thirty-five (35) years of creditable service (including accumulated sick leave) with the Illinois Teachers Retirement System; and d. Must submit an irrevocable letter of resignation for retirement. As many as the last three (3) years of an employee’s career may be included in the pre-retirement period. An irrevocable letter of resignation establishing the date of retirement will create and determine the length of the pre-retirement period; and e. The irrevocable letter of resignation for retirement must be submitted to the Superintendent on or before October 1st and indicate a pre-retirement period from 1 to 3 years in duration. For example, an employee who submits an irrevocable notice of retirement by October 1, 2019 may indicate a retirement date of June 30, 2020, 2021, or 2022.
Requirements to Qualify. 13.04 a) To qualify for paid Short Xxxx Xxxx Leave an employee must: 1) Make every effort to ensure that their Supervisor (or Duty Supervisor for shift workers) is notified at the commencement of illness. The employee will speak to their Supervisor (or Duty Supervisor for shift workers) and if the Supervisor is not immediately available, they will leave a voice mail with the required information and provide a contact number where the employee may be reached if the Supervisor (or Duty Supervisor for shift workers) requires additional information. The employee shall, if possible, indicate the nature of such illness, the anticipated duration of their absence and any limitations imposed by such illness. The parties (Union and Employer) agree that it is a joint obligation to make every effort to ensure that ill or injured employees are provided with alternative work if they cannot perform their normal duties. If the Employer is able to provide alternative work that meets the employee’s identified limitations, the employee will attend work and perform the alternative duties; 2) When the Supervisor requests it, and if the absence for sickness exceeds two (2) days, submit a doctor’s certificate to support such absence. The certificate must be submitted within seven (7) days of the commencement of the absence; 3) When the absence for sickness exceeds five (5) days, submit a medical form from the doctor (in the form approved by the Joint Benefit Advisory Committee) identifying limitations, anticipated duration of the absence and availability for alternative work. The requirement to provide this information may be waived by the employee’s Supervisor. 4) For the purposes of calculating an individual’s total sick time for attendance management purposes, a sick day will be calculated as per the employee’s regular scheduled hours. I.e., an employee who is sick for one 12 hour shift, will be considered to have been sick for 1 day. This interpretation does not apply for the calculation of short term sick leave credits and benefits. 13.04 b) When a review reveals abnormal use of Short Term Sick Leave and/or medical/dental appointments and/or a pattern of absences, the employee may be required to undergo an independent medical examination and provide the Employer with information concerning their ability to attend work on a regular basis and any limitations which may prevent them from fulfilling their work requirements. 13.04 c) When the Employer requires an employee to auth...

Requirements to Qualify. Teachers who have been employed by the South Xxxxxx-Xxxxxxxxx City Schools for at least three (3) consecutive years may be granted leave for not more than one (1) school year for the purpose of professional improvement, subject to the following conditions: a. Not more than two (2) classroom teachers and one (1) non-classroom teacher may be on leave at any one time (total 3). b. To be considered, a teacher shall present to the Superintendent a written request along with a plan for professional growth. This written request and plan must be submitted by April 1 of the school year preceding the school year in which leave is requested unless a later date is agreed to by the Superintendent and the Association President. In order to be assured of a return position at the expiration of the leave, the teacher must also provide written notice of her/his intent to return the school year following the school year of the leave in accordance with Section A, 4 and shall be so notified in writing at the time the leave is approved.

Must be at least fifty-five (55) years of age by December 31 of the year of retirement with thirty-five (35) or more years of creditable service with the Illinois Teachers’ Retirement System; or 2. If an employee is ineligible under subparagraph 1 hereof, the teacher must be at least 60 years of age by December 31 of the year of retirement. 3. Have a minimum of twenty (20) years full-time service in Maroa-Forsyth CUSD # 2. 4. No teacher may participate in this program unless they have sufficient service credit with the Illinois Teachers’ Retirement System to exempt the employer from the payment of any penalty or other additional amount, to the Teachers’ Retirement System. 5. Employees may not receive the retirement incentive and an Early Retirement Option from the Teacher Retirement System. 6. Any teacher who elects to participate in the retirement incentive program by receiving incentive sick days upon retirement notice and retires prior to completion of the plan he/she has selected and thereby causes the School District to incur a penalty to the Teachers’ Retirement System, the Teacher shall be required to pay to the District a Liquidated Damages Amount equal to the penalty imposed by the Teachers’ Retirement System. Such payment shall be made pursuant to a promissory note agreeable to the teacher and the District. If no such agreement can be reached, the Teacher shall be required to make such payment within ninety (90) days of the date of their retirement. A copy of this obligation shall be provided to the Teacher upon acceptance of the retirement notice and acknowledgement of such obligation shall be provided to the District in writing. If an eligible employee gives the Board an irrevocable letter of retirement prior to May 1st stating that he/she shall retire at the end of the next school year, the employee will be removed from the salary schedule and for the final year of employment the employee’s TRS creditable earning shall be increased by five percent (5%) over the employee’s TRS creditable earnings for the prior year of employment.
