Faculty appearance. Teachers will dress in a manner that is conducive to their professional status. Attire for the workplace should be business casual and avoid extremism or distraction to the educational process. Exceptions to this may be granted by the building principal to individuals or groups based upon special planned activities or circumstances. Employees shall have the option to wear blue jeans and Maroa- Forsyth school spirit wear on Fridays. Teachers who fail to dress in a manner that is conducive to their professional status will be given a written warning. Repeated infractions shall result in a letter of reprimand placed in their personnel files, and further disciplinary action, including but not limited to the evaluation process. The professional dress committee shall consist of the committee chair, one teacher from the high school, one teacher from the middle school, and one teacher from the grade school. The superintendent shall appoint three other designees, which may consist of administration and/or school board members to participate on the committee. The committee will meet upon the superintendent’s request.

  • Court Appearance (a) In the event an Employee is required to appear before a court of law as a member of a jury, as a witness in a criminal matter or as a witness in any matter arising out of the Employee’s employment with the Employer, the Employee shall:

  • Personal Appearance All teachers shall maintain dress, grooming and personal appearance consistent with their area of teaching.

  • Appearance The Employee must appear at the Employer’s desired workplace at the time scheduled. If the Employee does not appear, for any reason, on more than separate occasions in a 12-month calendar period the Employer has the right to terminate this Agreement immediately. In such event, the Employee would not be granted severance as stated in Section III.

  • Faculty a. All instructors teaching dual credit courses must meet the College’s academic requirements as outlined by SACSCOC Faculty Credentialing requirements, as determined by the College. All instructors teaching dual credit classes at the School site must be approved and hired as faculty by the College prior to teaching dual credit courses. The faculty credentialing process used by the College for faculty on the College site will apply for faculty on the School site. The College will designate staff in the respective discipline to supervise and evaluate the faculty on the School site using the same or comparable procedures used with faculty on the College site.

  • Faculty Development Faculty who develop and/or teach Distance Education courses shall be provided with reasonable technical support and opportunities for Faculty development, consistent with the needs of the Faculty and availability of Board resources and services for that purpose. In the event that a Faculty member develops and/or teaches a Distance Education course for the first time, the Faculty member shall receive reasonable and appropriate professional development and technical support assistance, consistent with the needs of the Faculty and availability of Board resources and services for that purpose. In instances of succeeding assignments to teach Distance Education courses, the Faculty member is expected to demonstrate a level of technical competence sufficient to teach the course. Ongoing technical support assistance may be available to Faculty who teach succeeding offerings of the same course.

  • Court Appearances If an employee is subpoenaed to appear as a witness in a job-related court case, not during the employee’s regularly assigned shift, the employee shall be credited for actual time worked, or a minimum of two and one-half hours, whichever is greater.

  • VOLUNTEERS AND STUDENT WORKERS The Employer will utilize volunteers and student workers only to the extent they supplement and do not supplant bargaining unit employees. Volunteers and student workers will not supervise bargaining unit employees.

  • Adjunct Faculty Adjunct faculty shall be eligible for benefits as follows:

  • Appearances (a) When an employee participates during working hours in an arbitration proceeding or in a grievance meeting between the grievant or representative and the University, that employee's compensation shall neither be reduced nor increased for time spent in those activities.
