Sick Leave Use. ▇. ▇▇▇▇ leave will be charged in one-tenth (1/10) of an hour increments and may be used for the following reasons: 1. An employee’s own mental or physical illness, injury or health condition. 2. To accommodate the employee’s need for medical diagnosis, care or treatment of a mental or physical illness, injury or health condition. 3. Preventive care, such as a medical, dental or optical appointment and/or treatment. 4. Care of a family member who needs medical diagnosis, care or treatment of a mental or physical illness, injury or health condition. 5. Care for a family member who needs preventive medical care. 6. Closure of the University, or the employee’s child’s school/place of care, by order of a public official for any health-related reasons. 7. Care of family members as required by the Family Care Act, RCW 49.12.
