Sickness on annual leave or long service leave Where an employee becomes ill while on annual or long service leave, the period of illness will be a charge against their sick leave. A medical certificate may be required.

Sickness on annual leave. 20.8.1 An employee who is incapacitated due to illness or injury for five or more continuous days while on annual leave may apply for sick leave for this period of illness. If sick leave is granted, the employee’s sick leave credits may be debited and his or her annual leave credited for such time.
Sickness on annual leave. An employee who is ill or injured whilst on annual leave and who complies with the notice and evidentiary requirements for Personal Leave is entitled to have any such day or days credited and the day or day of annual leave will not be deducted.
