Training Period The training provided for in this article shall be given during the hours of work whenever possible. Any such training outside of working hours shall be considered voluntary unless at the request of the Employer, in which case time devoted to training shall be considered as time worked.
Normal Work Period The normal work period shall consist of not less than eighty (80) hours of work nor more than 86 hours of work and ten (10) work days within a fourteen (14) consecutive calendar day work period.
Returning to Work After a Period of Parental Leave (a) An employee will notify of their intention to return to work after a period of parental leave at least four weeks prior to the expiration of the leave.
BEGINNING TEACHERS definition Beginning teachers meet the Teaching Council criteria for provisional certification as a teacher. Beginning Teachers work under the guidance of others. Meal and Break Periods The unpaid meal period shall be thirty (30) minutes. If a represented employee does not receive this thirty (30) minute meal period, he/she may be relieved at the end of eight (8) hours. If the employee’s work day is not shortened (ie: if he/she works eight and one-half (8½) hours), he/she shall be compensated under the CBA for one-half (½) hour at time-and-a half (ie: paid for 45 minutes). Two 10 (ten) minute breaks shall continue to be provided for each full-time shift.
Lunch and Break Periods 280. At the request of the Union or the City, City departments will meet and confer regarding the scheduling of break and lunch periods for unit members.
