Planning and Conference Time. 1. Elementary teachers shall have a weekly minimum preparation time of 200 minutes, and a minimum daily planning time of thirty (30) minutes.
Planning and Conference Time. In addition, all teachers shall be normally provided with a minimum of two hundred (200) minutes of planning-conference time per week. It is recognized that because of special scheduling problems, the above provision cannot always be reached at all times in the elementary buildings, but over the course of the year each teacher should average at least two hundred (200) minutes per week.
Planning and Conference Time a. Each employee shall have a minimum of three hundred (300) minutes per week of planning and conference time. Two hundred twenty (220) (200) minutes of the three hundred (300) minutes minimum shall be set aside on the schedule exclusively for teacher directed planning. Employees shall not leave school grounds without prior approval of the building principal. Student supervision shall not be assigned during this conference and planning time, but professional staff meetings may be scheduled when a portion of this time is after student dismissal.

Each member shall have two hundred and fifteen (215) minutes each week for planning and conference. If a teacher is directed by a school administrator to perform other duties on his/her regularly scheduled planning time in excess of 30 minutes, said teacher, if requested, shall receive compensation of $18.00. Teachers may voluntarily exchange planning periods with no compensation required by the Board, provided the approval of the building principal is obtained. When no substitute teacher is available for an elementary classroom, the students in this classroom may be divided among other teachers. Substitute teacher pay for this day will be divided equally among the affected teachers.

Full-time (3/4 time or more) certificated members of the bargaining unit within the elementary buildings shall be provided no less than two hundred forty (240) minutes per week as planning and conference time, with a daily uninterrupted block of time of at least forty (40) minutes per day.

The Board will grant full-time equivalent certificated/licensed staff members, who are assigned a day of six (6) hours or longer exclusive of the lunch period, at least two hundred (200) minutes per week for instructional planning, evaluation, and conferences. A half- time or more certificated/licensed staff member will receive instructional planning, evaluation, and conference time equivalent to the percentage of the school day he/she is employed.

The Board and Association recognize that adequate planning time within the student school day is essential to good instruction and shall work to provide adequate planning time within the operational and financial constraints of the District.
