TEMPORARY MODIFIED DUTIES a) All modified duties and/or work assignments are temporary and intended to assist the employee’s return to full duties. Such assignments shall be based on the employee’s medical restrictions/abilities and on operational needs. b) The assignment of an employee to modified duties does not create a vacancy within the bargaining unit. c) Modified duties and/or work assignments can be implemented by the Employer for the employee’s immediate return to work instead of the employee remaining on short term sick leave.
