Work Shifts Employees shall be scheduled to work on regular work shifts having regular starting and quitting times. Except for emergencies (see Section D), employees' work schedules shall not be changed without written notice to the employee at least five (5) working days prior to the date the change is to be effective. Work Area The specific work area and/or crew an employee reports to on a daily schedule. Work areas are generally smaller divisions of a larger Bid Area.
Day Work (a) The normal work week shall be thirty-seven and one-half (37½) hours and the normal work day shall be seven and one-half (7½) consecutive hours, exclusive of a meal period, between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. The normal work week shall be Monday to Friday inclusive.
Work Shift The hours an employee is scheduled to work each workday in a workweek.
HOURS OF WORK & OVERTIME (Subject to implementation instructions, the following clauses will appear in all collective agreements replacing any provision related to the Work Week and Work Day, Rest Periods, Overtime Definitions, Overtime/Callback Accumulation, Missed Meal Breaks, Meal Allowance, Time Off Between Shifts, and Change of Schedule that existed in the Hospital’s expiring collective agreement:)
Work Day/Work Week 1. The work week shall consist of five (5) consecutive days Monday through Friday of no more than eight (8) hours per day and no more than forty (40) hours per work week. This shall not restrict the extension of the employee’s usual and customary workday or workweek when such is necessary to carry on the business of the School District. Employees who actually work more than forty (40) hours per week will receive overtime pay (time-and-a-half).

Dirty Work Where an employee and their supervisor agree that work (other than ship repair work) is of an unusually dirty or offensive nature, the employee shall be entitled to 43 cents per hour extra. Where an employee and their supervisor agree that certain ship repair work is of an unusually dirty or offensive nature, the employee shall be entitled to 58 cents per hour extra.
HOURS OF WORK AND WORK SCHEDULES 22.01 Except for employees subject to a particular work schedule according to clause 22.10, the duration of the regular work week is established at thirty-five (35) hours generally worked between 9:00 and 17:00 from Monday to Friday.
WORK CLOTHES The employer shall provide all necessary work clothes (coveralls, work shoes or equivalent, and insulated coveralls, winter coveralls and rain gear as needed), as well as safety equipment, including personal safety gear. Work clothes and safety gear provided by the company are the property of the company. When a new set of work clothes is provided, the worn set shall be handed in. Used safety equipment as mentioned above shall be properly cleaned before being reissued.
