The Case Studies Sample Clauses

The Case Studies. This report is also a specification of the case studies that are required to evaluate the BlogForever system. The six case studies have been pre-planned in the DoW [8] with the intention of representing as large as possible a cross-section of bloggers and other stakeholders. A summary of the case studies is in this table: Table 1 - Case Studies Summary Details ID Nature Blog Count Domain & Content Work Period Leader I Small & simple 58 Higher & Further Education UK Jun 2012 - Nov 2012 UL II Small & simple 70 Higher & Further Education UK Jun 2012 - Nov 2012 UW III Small & complex 356 Multilingual focused Jun 2012 - Dec 2012 CW IV Small & complex 1,000 Multimedia focused Jun 2012 - Dec 2012 Phaistos V Large & complex 2,000 Wide range of topics Sep 2012 – Feb 2013 Populis VI Large & complex 500,000 Wide range of topics Dec 2012 – Mar 2013 Populis Overall, the case studies are intended to test the BlogForever platform extensively; generate feedback from users; and minimise system problems. The reason behind this extensive software testing is to follow any activities aimed at evaluating a particular attribute or capability of the BlogForever platform, and determining that its functionality is sufficient for user requirements, that it meets its required results, and it is judged to be fit for purpose. The purpose of this testing is quality assurance, verification and validation. We take the view that software testing is more than just debugging. As Hetzel [5] explains, with software testing we can test related factors to make quality visible. Consequently, the software development within WP4 aims to be incremental, iterative and agile. The testing that will be performed within WP5 should follow some of the principles of agile testing. This type of testing involves the participation of all members of a cross-functional team [14]. Agile development recognizes that testing is not a separate phase, but an integral part of software development, along with coding [6] . Testing and coding are done incrementally and iteratively, building up each feature to improve the overall outcome. In Task 4.5 “Implementation of the digital repository component” and based on the DoW [8] requirements for this task, the following development process should occur: The implementation of the weblog digital repository will follow an organic growth development model. The planned modifications to the source code will be implemented through iterations. During these iterations, a new modifica...
