Common use of Tie Breaker Clause in Contracts

Tie Breaker. In the event a reduction in number of teachers creates a situation requiring that a choice be made among teachers who have equal seniority, the selection of the teacher(s) for purposes of reduction shall be based on criteria that give preference to the teacher(s) in the order that follows: a. current employment in any School District curricular, extra-curricular, or co- curricular program as identified in this Agreement or subsequently created by the School District; b. lower Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board (PELSB) file folder number.
