Trainee. a. An “Internal” TRAINEE shall be an employee who holds a regular position with Hennepin County. An “Internal” TRAINEE will maintain all seniority, benefit levels, and the right to return to a position in their pay class subject to the seniority rights and layoff provisions. “Internal” TRAINEEs will be paid at the entry-level TRAINEE salary of the class for which they are training, or at their existing salary, whichever is greater. b. Each TRAINEE program shall specify the maximum length of time a TRAINEE may participate in the program.
