Common use of Transfer Out of the Bargaining Unit Clause in Contracts

Transfer Out of the Bargaining Unit. An employee who transfers to a position outside of the bargaining unit for a period of up to twelve (12) months shall retain but not accumulate bargaining unit seniority while in that position. Any extension to such transfer will be negotiated by the parties and shall not be unreasonably denied. An employee will only be covered for a subsequent transfer out of the bargaining unit if in the interim she had returned to and worked in a bargaining unit position for at least the same duration as her previous assignment outside the bargaining unit
