Common use of Transfers Outside the Bargaining Unit Clause in Contracts

Transfers Outside the Bargaining Unit. Any bargaining unit employee, who is appointed by the City to a position outside of the bargaining unit, shall continue to accrue seniority for a period of one (1) year after the date of appointment to a non-bargaining unit position. It is understood that seniority retention as referred to in #1 above shall apply strictly for the purpose of returning to the bargaining unit. In the event that a non-bargaining unit employee and the City mutually agree to revert, the following conditions shall apply:
