Tutor Teacher Allo ance. 3.16.1 A tutor teacher is a fully certificated teacher who has met the professional standards in this agreement as appropriate and is designated as being responsible for providing an advice and guidance programme to a provisionally certificated first or second year teacher working towards full certification. The responsibilities of a tutor teacher include assisting the provisionally certificated teacher to meet the requirements for becoming fully certificated. 3.16.2 The Tutor Teacher Allowance of $4000 per annum is payable to a designated tutor teacher while they are responsible for a permanently appointed or long-term relieving first or second year provisionally certificated teacher or teachers. The Tutor Teacher Allowance is payable provided that: the total combined hours worked by the provisionally certificated teacher(s) are at least 0.8 FTTE, and the tutor teacher is not receiving at the same time an allowance payable under clause 3.16.3. 3.16.3 A tutor teacher allowance of $1000 per annum is payable to a designated tutor teacher while they are responsible for a permanently appointed or long term relieving first year provisionally certificated teacher where the hours worked by the provisionally certificated teacher are 0.5 FTTE or greater but less than 0.8 FTTE, provided that the tutor teacher is not receiving at the same time an allowance payable under clause 3.16.2. 3.16.4 A tutor teacher may be responsible for tutoring more than one provisionally certificated teacher concurrently, but shall only receive one payment of the allowance. 3.16.5 Only one teacher may be designated as being responsible for tutoring any provisionally certificated teacher at any one time. 3.16.6 The designation of tutor teacher shall be for no more than one school year on each occasion. 3.16.7 Where the provisionally certificated teacher is employed for part of a year, e.g. one term, the allowance shall be paid to the tutor teacher for that part of the year only.

Tutor Teacher Allo ance. A tutor teacher is a fully certificated teacher who holds a current practicing certificate and is designated as being responsible for providing an advice and guidance programme to a provisionally certificated teacher working towards full registration. The responsibilities of the tutor teacher include assisting the provisionally certificated teacher to meet the certification requirements. A tutor teacher allowance of $600 per annum is payable to a designated tutor teacher while they are responsible for a provisionally certificated teacher, or teachers, who are permanently employed or employed to fixed term positions of at least ten consecutive weeks provided that the total combined hours of the provisionally certificated teachers are at least 0.8. A tutor teacher may be responsible for tutoring more than one provisionally certificated teacher concurrently, but shall only receive one payment of the allowance. Only one teacher may be designated as being responsible for tutoring any provisionally certificated teacher at any one time. The designation of tutor teacher shall be for no more than one calendar year on each occasion. Where the provisionally certificated teacher is employed for part of a year, the allowance shall be paid to the tutor teacher for that part of the year only. Senior teachers are not entitled to the allowance. The tutor teacher and the provisionally certificated teacher engaged in the advice and guidance programme will receive paid release time.   • Mentor Teachers A. A Mentor Teacher shall be defined as a Master Teacher as identified in Section 1526 of the School Code and shall perform the duties of a Master Teacher as specified in the School Code and State Administrative Rules and Regulations. B. Each bargaining unit member in his/her first three (3) years in the classroom shall be assigned one or more Mentor Teacher(s) by the Administration. The Mentor Teacher shall be available to provide professional support, instruction and guidance. The purpose of the mentor assignment is to provide a peer who can offer assistance, resources and information in a collegial fashion. C. A Mentor Teacher shall be assigned in accordance with the following: 1. Participation as a Mentor Teacher shall be voluntary. 2. The Mentor Teacher assignment shall be for one (1) academic year subject to review. The appointment may be renewed in succeeding academic years. 3. Should either the Mentor Teacher or the Mentee present cause to dissolve the relationship, the administration will meet with the Mentor Teacher and the Mentee to determine an appropriate course of action. D. Upon request, the Administration may provide release time so the Mentor may work with the Mentee in his/her assignment during the regular work day. E. Mentees who are new to the profession shall be provided with a minimum of fifteen (15) days of professional development instruction during their first three (3) years of classroom teaching. F. Performance responsibilities of a Mentor Teacher may include but not be limited to: Work to establish a relationship with Mentee based on mutual trust, respect and collegiality; provide encouragement, support, guidance and feedback when needed; help Mentee feel welcome; take part in training to enhance teaching and mentoring skills; complete periodic evaluations of Mentor-Mentee program, as requested; contact mentees, minimally once a week, for formal or informal meetings; help Mentee learn about resources, procedures, curriculum, students' needs, building and district policies, regulations and schedules; promote a smooth transition between teacher training and the actual classroom setting; facilitate three-way conferences involving the Mentor, Mentee and Principal; provide opportunities for Mentee to observe the Mentor and other teachers; share new and alternative materials, methods and resources with Mentee; observe Mentee's teaching in a classroom setting; conduct pre and post observation conferences; and assist Mentee with goal setting.

  • Multi-year Planning Targets Schedule A may reflect an allocation for the first Funding Year of this Agreement as well as planning targets for up to two additional years, consistent with the term of this Agreement. In such an event, the HSP acknowledges that if it is provided with planning targets, these targets: a. are targets only, b. are provided solely for the purposes of planning, c. are subject to confirmation, and d. may be changed at the discretion of the Funder in consultation with the HSP. The HSP will proactively manage the risks associated with multi-year planning and the potential changes to the planning targets; and the Funder agrees that it will communicate any changes to the planning targets as soon as reasonably possible.

  • Mentor Teacher A. Each bargaining unit member in his/her first three (3) years in the classroom shall be assigned a Mentor Teacher by the Administration after consultation with the Association as identified in (Section 1526 of PA 335 (1993)). The Mentor Teacher shall be available to provide professional support, instruction and guidance. The purpose of the mentor assignment is to provide a peer who can offer assistance, resources and information in a non-threatening collegial fashion. B. Mentor Teachers shall be assigned in accordance with the following: 1. The ultimate and overriding criteria used in selecting a Mentor Teacher will be the candidate's recognition as a teacher skilled in the art and science of teaching with the capability to communicate these two areas. 2. The Mentor Teacher shall be a tenured teacher within the bargaining unit whenever possible. 3. Participation as a Mentor Teacher shall be voluntary. 4. The District shall notify the Association of those members requiring a mentor assignment. 5. Mentor Teachers and Mentees shall work in the same building and have the same or similar area of certification whenever possible. 6. The Mentee shall be assigned to only one (1) Mentor Teacher at a time. 7. The Mentor Teacher assignment shall be for one (1) year, subject to review by the Administration, Mentor Teacher and Mentee after three (3) months. The appointment may be renewed in succeeding years. 8. Mentor Teachers may have up to two (2) Mentees if mutually desired by the Mentor Teacher and building principal. C. Because the purpose of the mentor/mentee match is to acclimate the bargaining unit member and to provide necessary assistance toward the end of quality instruction, the Board and the Association agree the relationship shall be confidential. D. Upon approval of the building principal, reasonable release time may be made available so the Mentor Teacher may work with the Mentee in his/her assignment during the regular work day and school calendar year. Where possible, the Mentor Teacher and Mentee shall be assigned common preparation time. E. Mentees shall be provided with a minimum of fifteen (15) days of professional development activities during their first three (3) years of classroom teaching. Professional development shall be scheduled within the parameters of PA 335 and Article XII of this Agreement.

  • Orientation Program The Company will allow a designated representative of the Local or Bargaining Unit up to one (1) hour per calendar month for the purpose of conducting the Communications, Energy and Paperworkers Union New Members’ Orientation Program. Such meetings will be conducted during the probationary period of employees, and will be held on Company premises. Employees participating in Orientation Program meetings during their normally scheduled working hours will not suffer loss of pay at their regular rate. Orientation Program meetings will be scheduled by Management and a Management representative may attend as an observer.

  • Multi-Year Planning The CAPS will be in a form acceptable to the LHIN and may be required to incorporate (1) prudent multi-year financial forecasts; (2) plans for the achievement of performance targets; and (3) realistic risk management strategies. It will be aligned with the LHIN’s then current Integrated Health Service Plan and will reflect local LHIN priorities and initiatives. If the LHIN has provided multi-year planning targets for the HSP, the CAPS will reflect the planning targets.

  • Orientation and In-Service Program The Hospital recognizes the need for a Hospital Orientation Program of such duration as it may deem appropriate taking into consideration the needs of the Hospital and the nurses involved.

  • Leave Donation Program Employees may donate paid leave to a fellow employee who is otherwise eligible to accrue and use sick leave and is employed by the same Agency. The intent of the leave donation program is to allow employees to voluntarily provide assistance to their co-workers who are in critical need of leave due to the serious illness or injury of the employee or a member of the employee's immediate family. The definition of immediate family as provided in rule 123:1-47-01 of the Administrative Code shall apply for the leave donation program. A. An employee may receive donated leave, up to the number of hours the employee is scheduled to work each pay period, if the employee who is to receive donated leave: 1. Or a member of the employee's immediate family has a serious illness or injury; 2. Has no accrued leave or has not been approved to receive other state-paid benefits; and 3. Has applied for any paid leave, workers' compensation, or benefits program for which the employee is eligible. Employees who have applied for these programs may use donated leave to satisfy the waiting period for such benefits where applicable, and donated leave may be used following a waiting period, if one exists, in an amount equal to the benefit provided by the program, i.e. fifty six hours (56) pay period may be utilized by an employee who has satisfied the disability waiting period and is pending approval, this is equal to the seventy percent (70%) benefit provided by disability. B. Employees may donate leave if the donating employee: 1. Voluntarily elects to donate leave and does so with the understanding that donated leave will not be returned; 2. Donates a minimum of eight hours; and 3. Retains a combined leave balance of at least eighty hours. Leave shall be donated in the same manner in which it would otherwise be used except that compensatory time is not eligible for donation. C. The leave donation program shall be administered on a pay period by pay period basis. Employees using donated leave shall be considered in active pay status and shall accrue leave and be entitled to any benefits to which they would otherwise be entitled. Leave accrued by an employee while using donated leave shall be used, if necessary, in the following pay period before additional donated leave may be received. Donated leave shall not count toward the probationary period of an employee who receives donated leave during his or her probationary period. Donated leave shall be considered sick leave, but shall never be converted into a cash benefit. D. Employees who wish to donate leave shall certify: 1. The name of the employee for whom the donated leave is intended; 2. The type of leave and number of hours to be donated; 3. That the employee will have a minimum combined leave balance of at least eighty hours; and 4. That the leave is donated voluntarily and the employee understands that the donated leave will not be returned. E. Appointing authorities shall ensure that no employees are forced to donate leave. Appointing authorities shall respect an employee's right to privacy, however appointing authorities may, with the permission of the employee who is in need of leave or a member of the employee's immediate family, inform employees of their co-worker's critical need for leave. Appointing authorities shall not directly solicit leave donations from employees. The donation of leave shall occur on a strictly voluntary basis.
