UNION LEAVE FOR UNION BUSINESS. Upon receipt of written request and reasonable notice, not to be less than fourteen (14) days prior to the scheduled leave, the Employer will grant a leave of absence without pay and without loss of seniority to employees selected or appointed to work with OPSEU on union business, provided such leave of absence does not interfere with the efficient operations of the Organization. Whenever possible the union shall give more notice. Such leave shall be in addition to the two hundred and seventy (270) hours under Article 12.02 (a) and must be taken in increments of 30 days or more. No more than one employee will be absent at any time on such leave. Exceptions to the above may be granted at the sole discretion of the Employer.
