Local Union Business Leave. The Hospital agrees to grant leaves of absence without pay to local bargaining unit members for the purpose of attending Union seminars and/or attending to Union business. The cumulative total leave of absence will be determined locally, but shall not exceed sixty (60) days per year per hospital. The amount of notice required and the number of employees who may be absent at any one time and from any one area shall be determined locally and will be set out in the Local Provisions Appendix.
Local Union Business Leave. The Hospital agrees to grant leaves of absence without pay to local bargaining unit members for the purpose of attending Union seminars and/or attending to Union business. The amount of notice required and the number of employees who may be absent at any one time and from any one area shall be determined locally and will be set out in Article (a) When an employee is elected as the Union's President or First Vice- President (Provincially) the Union will immediately following such election advise the Employer of the name of the employee so elected. Leave of absence shall be granted from the employee's place of employment for the duration of the current term of office. The Union shall reimburse the Employer the amounts paid on behalf of the employee, including pay and benefits. Where an individual of the bargaining units represented centrally by is elected or appointed as an Executive Board Member, Executive Officer, member of the central negotiating committee, member of Medical Division Executive or as a Membership Development Trainee, such individual shall be granted leave of absence for the time off required to exercise the duties of such appointment, The notice requirements to obtain such time off shall be governed in accordance with the leave of absence policy and procedure of the affected Hospital. Such positions shall be limited to two (2) a Hospital with no more than one individual from within a within a Department. For leaves of absence without pay for Union business under the terms of this Agreement, including unpaid leave for members of the Central Negotiating Team, the employee’s salary and applicable benefits will be maintained by the Hospital and the Union will reimburse the Hospital for the cost of salary and benefits, The Hospital will bill the Union and the Union will reimburse the Hospital within a reasonable period of time, In addition, there shall be no loss of seniority during such leaves of absence, Any employee who notifies the Hospital as soon as possible following a bereavement will be granted bereavement leave for up to three (3) consecutive scheduled working days off without loss of regular pay from regularly scheduled hours within the seven (7) calendar day period commencing three (3) calendar days prior to the day of the funeral of a member of his immediate family, Immediate family, for the purposes of this...
Local Union Business Leave. LP5.01 Per Article 14.02 of the Central Agreement, the amount of notice required is two (2) weeks and the number of employees who may be absent at any one time may not exceed three (3) with no more than one (1) employee from within a work unit. LP5.02 As per Article 14.02 of the Central Agreement, the Hospital agrees to grant leaves of absence without pay to Local bargaining unit members for the purposes of attending Union seminars or meetings to a cumulative maximum of five (5) days per year.
Local Union Business Leave. (i) The Hospital agrees to grant leaves of absence without pay to employees for the purpose of attending Union seminars and/or attending to Union business provided that such leave will not interfere with the efficient operation of the Hospital. Such leave will not be unreasonably denied.
(ii) In requesting such leave of absence referred to in (a) (i) above, the Union must give at least fourteen (14) calendar days’ notice in writing to the Hospital, unless not reasonably possible to give such notice.
(iii) The cumulative total leave of absence will not exceed eight (8) employees at any one time comprised of, within a site not more than one
(1) employee from any one discipline or service function of less than twenty (20) employees, or two (2) employees from any one discipline or service function of twenty (20) or more employees to a total of one hundred (100) person days in any one (1) contract year. It is understood that at the request of the Union, the Hospital may consider increasing the cumulative total leave of absence or the number of employees off at any one time.
Local Union Business Leave. D-1 The cumulative total leave of absence as per Article 14.02
(a) will be thirty (30) working days per year.
D-2 Not more than three (3) employees in total and not more than one (1) employee from any one section shall be so absent at any time. All such time off shall be requested and granted in writing.
D-3 The Local Union President or highest ranking union officer or designate shall be entitled up to 2 days per three month period commencing September 1, 2004. The Local Union President will suffer no loss of pay, benefits, service or seniority during such leave, the scheduling of which will be by mutual agreement between the affected employee and his or her supervisor.
D-4 Any requests for time off for Union Business will be forwarded to the Director, Human Resource Services or designate. ARTICLE E - HOURS OF WORK & OVERTIME ACCUMULATION E-1 Overtime accumulation for the purposes of Article 16.04 shall accumulate to a maximum of two (2) days. If the employee chooses to take equivalent time off then such time off must be taken within the succeeding two (2) pay periods of the occurrence of the overtime.
Local Union Business Leave. The Employer agrees to grant leaves of absence without pay to local bargaining unit members for the purposes of attending Union seminars and/or attending to Union business. Where Union Business leave is requested and granted such leave shall not total more than twenty six (26) calendar days for any one person in the bargaining unit in any calendar year and the total calendar days for the total bargaining unit shall not exceed forty (40) days per year. Requests for such leave of absence shall be at least ten (10) days in advance and no more than six (6) members shall be granted leave at any
Local Union Business Leave. The Hospital agrees to grant leaves of absence without pay to l ocal bargaining unit members for the purpose of attending Union seminars and/or attending to Union business, provided such leave does not interfere with the efficient operation of the Hospital. There can be no more than two (2) person off within a department at any one time and the cumulative total leaves of absence shall not exceed fifty (50) days per year. In requesting such leave of absence, the Union must give at least fourteen (14) day written notice to the employee mmediate supervisor, copied to the person responsible for scheduling, as well as the Director of Labour Relations or Designate. Requests consistent with the above shall not be unreasonably denied.
Local Union Business Leave. E-1 As provided for in Article 14.02, no more than one full-time and one part-time employee will be absent from any one area. For the purposes of Local Union business, the Local Union President shall be entitled to up to sixty (60) hours leave from April 1st of the current year to march 31st of the following year. For purposes of such leave, if the local Union President is not an employee of the Hospital, the local Union President will identify in writing to the Hospital a designate who is a hospital employee and Union xxxxxxx. An employee will suffer no loss of pay, benefits or seniority during such leave, the scheduling of which will be by mutual agreement between the employee and his/her supervisor.
Local Union Business Leave. For the purposes of Article (a), the amount of notice required by the Hospital for Local Union Business Leave shall be two (2) weeks where possible. No more than four (4)employees hall be granted such leave at any one time. No more than two (2) employees shall be granted Local Union Business Leave from one specific department.
Local Union Business Leave. The amount of notice required and the number of employees who may be absent at any one time and from any one area shall be determined locally and will be set out in Article (a) Leave of absence without pay and without loss of seniority shall be granted upon request to the Hospital to employees elected or appointed to represent the Union at union functions, and provided such leave of absence does not interfere with efficient operations. Such time shall not exceed a total of five (5) man days in any one (1) year, and not more than two (2) employees shall be permitted to be absent at any one (1) time, and provided that where there is leave for more than one employee it does not interfere with leave for any other such employee. Requests for union leave of absence under this clause will be submitted two weeks in advance of the requested date.
