UNION SECURITY AND DUES DEDUCTION. 6.01 During the term of this Agreement, the Company agrees to deduct regular monthly union dues or a sum equivalent to the regular monthly union dues as certified by the Union to be currently in effect according to the constitution and bylaws of the Union from the wages of each covered employee in equal amounts from each pay, (i.e. 26 pays per year), and to remit the amount so deducted to the Local Union Financial Secretary no later than the 15th day of the following month. 6.02 Dues of employees which were not deducted due to a mistake will be deducted in double amounts the month following and each month thereafter until arrears are paid. 6.03 The Company will not be responsible for the collection of any dues where, because of absence from work, the employee has earnings less than the amount being deducted. 6.04 The Company shall furnish to the Union monthly a list of the names and addresses of those employees, as supplied by them, for and on behalf of whose deductions have been made and indicate along side those employees from whom no deductions were made the reason. Employees will be responsible for advising the Company of any change in address or telephone number. 6.05 The Union agrees to indemnify and save the Company harmless against all claims or other forms of liability that may arise out of or by reason of deductions made or payments made in accordance with this Article.
