UNION SECURITY AND DUES. 5.01 All employees who are presently employed by the Company must, as a condition of employment, become and/or maintain their Union membership in good standing. For the purposes of this Collective Agreement, the sole definition of membership in good standing means that they must pay in accordance with the provisions of this Collective Agreement, the regularly prescribed initiation fee, regular monthly Union dues, and periodic assessments uniformly required of all members in the bargaining unit.
5.02 New employees shall make application for Union membership on cards supplied by the Union prior to the completion of their probationary period and the Company will forward their Membership Application cards to the Union following their probationary period.
5.03 The Company agrees to deduct from the first pay of an eligible employee each month, initiation fees and monthly dues and to remit the monies so deducted together with a list showing from whom and in what amount deductions were made, to the Secretary-Treasurer of the Union on or before the 10th of the following month. The Secretary-Treasurer of the Union shall notify the Company by letter of any change in the amount of Union dues, and such notification shall be the Company’s authority to make the deductions specified.
5.04 The Company will, at the time of making each remittance hereunder to the Secretary- Treasurer of the Union, update the Union’s Pre-billing statement showing the following information from whose pay deductions have been made:
a) all monthly dues for members to be submitted with current address, postal code and Social Insurance Number;
b) twelve (12) check-offs per year (calendar month);
c) Monthly: - New members to be listed in alphabetical order with current address, postal code, Social Insurance Number and date of hire. - Terminations or resignations to be clearly identified with current address, postal code, Social Insurance Number and date of termination or resignation. - Addresses to be updated as well as name changes i.e. marriage.
5.05 The Company will list the annual regular Union dues paid by each employee on his Income Tax T-4 Statement.
5.06 The Union agrees to indemnify the Company and save it harmless against any and all claims which may arise in complying with the provisions of Article 3.
5.07 The Company agrees to remit, twice annually, to the Union, a complete list of updated addresses and phone numbers for all employees in the bargaining unit.
UNION SECURITY AND DUES. 5.01 The Company agrees to deduct Union dues from each pay cheque for each employee.
5.02 The Union dues deducted will be a fixed dollar amount per pay which amount the Union will certify to the Company to be currently in effect according to the Union's constitution. The required deductions shall be made for each pay period and shall be remitted by the end of the month in which such deductions are made to the designated officer of the Union. The deductions shall be accompanied by an alphabetical check-off list which will provide each employee’s name, current address and social insurance number upon receiving that employee’s written consent. The Union shall advise the Company of the name, position and address of the aforementioned designated officer and its failure to do so shall relieve the Company of its obligation to remit the deductions herein provided for until the Company is so advised.
5.03 The Union agrees to defend and hold the Company completely harmless against all claims and demands should any person at any time contend or claim that the Company has acted wrongfully or illegally in making the aforementioned deduction for Union dues.
5.04 Subject to the provisions of the Labour Relations Act, 1995, Union Constitution and By- Laws, an employee in the bargaining unit described in paragraph 2.01 shall become and remain a member in good standing of the Union as a condition of continued employment, upon the completion of his probationary period.
5.05 Subject to the provisions of the Labour Relations Act, 1995, Union Constitution and By- Laws, the Company shall deduct from the earnings of each employee who has completed the probationary period such initiation fee as the Union may prescribe from time to time by its constitution or by-laws. The Union will give the Company written notice of the amount of such initiation fee and, unless the Company is so notified, the Company is under no obligation to deduct such initiation fee.
5.06 The Company shall show the yearly union dues deductions on the employees' T-4 slip.
UNION SECURITY AND DUES. 3.01 All employees will be required to pay Union dues or the equivalent of Union Dues as a condition of employment, and that amount shall be deducted from the wages of each employee employed in any position within the bargaining unit described in Article 2 of this Agreement.
3.02 The Employer shall deduct from their pay due to each employee any dues, initial fees or assessments levied by the Union on its members. The Union agrees to advise the Employer in writing the amount set as regular monthly dues. Such deductions shall then be forwarded to the Secretary/Treasurer of the Union not later than the fifteenth (15th) day of the month following the month in which the deductions were made. Union dues payments cannot be transferred electronically at present. If and when the Union is able to accept union dues remittances from the Employers electronically the parties agree to implement this payment process.
3.03 The Employer shall, when forwarding such dues, provide a list for the Secretary/Treasurer of the Union of those employees from whom such deductions have been made.
3.04 The Union shall indemnify and hold harmless the Employer against any and all liability which may arise by reason of the check-off by the Employer of dues, initiation fees or assessments in accordance with this Agreement.
3.05 Where an employee is directed by the Employer to attend a staff meeting, in-service or a committee meeting during his/her regular working hours, or outside normal working hours, the employee shall be compensated at his/her regular hourly rate for the time spent in such attendance (including their lunch and/or break times).
3.06 The Employer agrees to provide the Union with an updated list of employees covered by this Agreement when there are newly hired employees and include their classification, employee status and updated contact information including addresses, phone numbers etc.

UNION SECURITY AND DUES. All present and future employees who perform work for the Banquet department shall, as a condition of employment, become and remain members of the Union.
UNION SECURITY AND DUES. (a) All bargaining unit associates shall become and remain members in good standing of the Union as a condition of employment.
(b) The Company shall remit to the Union, the United Food and Commercial Workers Canada, Local 175 Membership Application Form which the Company shall have signed by all new associates at time of hiring. The Company shall forward such forms with the next dues remittance.
(c) The Company shall collect membership initiation fees as may be established by the Union and forward such fees with the regular monthly dues remittance.
5.02 The Company agrees to deduct from the wages of each associate in the bargaining unit the regular union dues according to the local Union bylaws as certified by the Union in writing.
5.03 Such deductions shall be made bi-weekly from the wages owing each associate in the bargaining unit. The remittance statement shall contain the full name, S.I.N., the amount deducted (or the reason the deduction was not made). The dues and initiation report will be provided in the form of e-mail (xxxxx@xxxx000.xxx) or on computer diskette as well as a hard copy of the dues report being attached to the remittance cheque.
5.04 The Union shall indemnify and save harmless the Company, its agents and/or associates acting on behalf of the Company, from any and all claims, demands, actions or causes of action arising out of, or in any way connected with the collection and remittance of such dues.
5.05 The Union shall provide the Company with thirty (30) days’ written notice of any increase or decrease in the amount of dues to be deducted from the bargaining unit associates.
5.06 The Company agrees to acquaint new associates with the fact that a union agreement is in effect and the fact that they are covered by that agreement. The Company agrees to provide a new associate with a list of union stewards and their department locations on the new associate’s first day of employment. If a xxxxxxx is available at the time of the store tour, the Company will undertake to introduce the new associate to that xxxxxxx.
5.07 The Company agrees that co-operative work program students will not perform bargaining unit work unless a bargaining unit associate is scheduled and working in the same scheduling area during such time. All students employed in a co-operative training program will be given a distinctive ribbon to distinguish them from regular associates.

UNION SECURITY AND DUES. 5.01 The Employer shall deduct from the pay cheque of present members of the Union and all future employees represented by the Union, all normal dues chargeable by the Union and shall remit the same to the Secretary- Treasurer of the Union biweekly. “Normal dues” shall not include entrance fees or special assessments levied by the Union. Following the negotiation of a new Collective Agreement, the dues retroactively owed by members, if any, shall be deducted from the member’s retroactive pay cheques and remitted to the Secretary- Treasurer of the Union.
5.02 The Employer shall supply the Union with an alphabetical order dues check- off list on a bi-weekly basis and the list shall include the following information: name, address, employee identification number, seniority date, classification, dues paid, total payroll and length of service.
5.03 The Employer agrees to provide the Union, on an annual basis, the number of full-time male and female employees in the bargaining unit.
UNION SECURITY AND DUES.
(a) The Board agrees to acquaint new employees with the fact that an agreement between the Board and the Union is in effect and with the conditions of employment dealing with union security and union dues.
(b) The Board shall each month deduct from each Union member and remit to the Union all union dues, initiation fees and assessments levied in accordance with the Constitution and Bylaws of the Union. Union dues shall be deducted from the date of hire.
UNION SECURITY AND DUES. All Casual Employees, who are not already members of the Union, shall become members of the Union by the pay period immediately following completion of thirty (30) calendar days of employment. All such employees shall remain members of the Union as a condition of employment provided that no employee shall be deprived of employment by reason of loss of membership in the Union for reasons other than failure to pay the regular Union dues that all other members of the Union are required to pay to the Union. All Casual Employees shall pay the Union an amount equal to the Union dues that all other members of the Union are required to pay, such payment to be made by payroll deduction. This deduction shall become effective on the employee's first day of work.
